Last thoughts before I pull the trigger on Potenza RE-760 in 205/50-16?
After browsing many archived threads and feedback I've gathered here, it looks like Potenza RE-760 in 205/50-16 is the best combination of performance, comfort, and minimal road noise in a high performance summer tire. Before I pull the trigger here, just wanted to see if there are any that would object or suggest other alternatives worth taking a close look at. Thanks everyone!
Bridgestone build a fine tire, it's not like you would be making a mistake...
For me their products are on the heavy side, in the 205/50R16 size I recently went with the Conti Extreme Contact DW and they are just fine in the categories you have noted.

I don't have a different recommendation....I just bought the same tire, in a 17" size and I love them. I would be interested however in knowing how you like them in the 16" size. The reason is, I was considering dropping down to 16" wheels for better comfort...the 17"s are a bit harsh. (but infinitely better than the damn run flats) I wanted to see if I lost anything in handling.
I have had at least 7 different combinations of tires and sizes on my car, so far the best for daily driving and some back roads, ( not track or Autocross as i have a different car for that) I have found is a 215 50 16, the ride is very good the look is just ok as the sidewall is a bit tall, but it does fill out the wheel well, not to many available in that size, I went with the General UHP as it is excellant in the rain. Very quite tire, handling is good, a bit soft, but for long highway cruising perfect for me.
Hmmmmm, sounds like a very good tip nightflyr, I may try that size if or when I swap over. I tend to go on long drives myself, so comfort and noise are important to me as well. I still love a fast, twitchy car for good handling, but those are rarely comfortable. Wish I could have TWO MINIs!

Any tire in my opinion is a tradeoff of one thing or another, some people want all out dry or rain performance, others want the look of a low profile, some want long Mileage, then you have the all season tires which are even more of a compromise,
Just my opinion again here but before anyone buys a tire they should ask themselves alot of questions and do there homework.

I'm running the RE760's 205/50/16's on my 07MC. It's a great tire.
These tires luv to run at 80+, sticky cornering, very good in rain, minimal noise, very responsive for quick lane changes and overall, a great ride. These replaced G 019-Grid high performance all seasons (195/55/16) that were extremely loud and just OK on the road.
Also, I've run the previous RE750's & current RE760's on my 525 for years (90K miles). Luv them.
