Greetings. I am getting ready to give my specs to the Dealer and I plan on getting the Xenons in my MC. In my current car I have foglights which come in really handy during snow/heavy rain. This car those has traditional halogen headlights. With the xenons, which are much brighter, would fog lights even add anything in terms of improved visibility? I ask this because it occured to me that the xenons might flood out the foglights. If this is so then I will save myself the $140 and use to to buy more beer

Any thoughts? Particuraly interested in those who have the Xenon/Foglight combo's (perhaps even in other types of cars).

Thanks, Driving_Hamster

Even with the brighter light of the Xenons,
they still aim ahead of the car . Fog lights
are for the area just in front the car,low to the
ground and wide spread for good road view

Personally, I've never found foglights all that useful for normal rain/fog driving conditions. I think that their greatest value is the "cool" value...hence their attachment to just about any car trying to have that "sporty" image.

That said, the fog lights on the MINI (I have them and Xenons) are definitely the brightest and best focused fog lights I've ever had. They do seem to provide light to the road and not just into the eyes of oncoming drivers. Still though, I do make it a point to only turn them on in rain/fog and not to leave them on all the time...something which many people seem to do. IMO it's just dorky...like, can they not find the on/off switch? Again, just my opinion.

To be totally honest, I'm getting the fogs largely because otherwise I'll have another plastic blank instead of a toggle switch (i'll already be missing one switch because I didn't go for the DSC). And also, yes, they are pretty cool... Hopefully useful too.
