Trading-In my 07 GTI for GP 0220

Hello,

I am trading-in my 2007 VW GTI for a MINI GP (#0220). The MINI has around 30,000 miles on it.

I should hopefully be picking up the MINI sometime this week (depending on weather). I can't wait!!

After test driving the MINI, I was sold!! It handles far better then the GTI does (atleast I think so).

Finally glad to be part of the MINI world

Nice.... Congratulations! We bought our GP(GP1695) used from a MINI dealer and it had 32 thousand miles on it so we were able to get an extended warranty on it through the dealer. Now we are under a gold warranty for 100,000 miles or 10 years. I hope you have an extended warranty also. as the GP's warranty is up soon. We live in NJ .
Enjoy!

Yes, I did get an extended Warranty. With all of the ECU's and other electrical stuff that's in cars today, I figured it would be a wise thing to get an extended warranty.

I should be heading back down to Massachusetts either on Wed. or Thur. to pick up the MINI . It was def. worth taking an 1 hour and 45 min trip down to MASS to look at the MINI and end up buying it!!

Congrats!
Wow, GP0220 has had a lot of owners, while it's local sister (my GP0203) is still on her first ...

Be sure to get in contact and give me the info to update the owners list

Thanks!

Good luck and have fun with your GP man. MPG will probably not be the same as the VW though, but a lot more fun to drive.

GBMINI: Yeah, I'm aware that GP 0220 has had a lot of different owners. I'll actually be the 3rd owner (according to CarFax). GP 0220 started it's life in NH, and that lasted for about 13,000 miles then it moved down to MA for about 17,000 miles (estimates) and now it's heading back to NH where it will be staying for a long time. Also, I'll be sure to contact you so you can update the owners list.

Barrettrw11: I'm not really concerned about MPG (the other car I was looking at before I found GP 0220 was an B6 Audi S4 which gets pretty bad MPG). According to the EPA, my 07 VW GTI got 21 City and 29 Highway, well the GP MINI gets 20 City and 27 Highway. I was averaging about 22.5 MPG Combined in my VW GTI. But I agree with you on the part that I will have more fun Drivng the MINI GP.

Well...? Do we have a new GP owner amongst us? How was the ride? Did you get any speeding tickets? Do we not love it?
Just wondering....

GOT THE GP!!!!

Sorry for not posting back so soon after getting the GP!! :-D I've just been having too much fun driving it around!!

I picked the GP up on Wed. Took it out on 4 Drives yesterday. I love the sound the supercharger makes (the whining sound).

So the Ride.... I thought the spring rates in my GTI were high..I guess I was wrong LOL. It doesn't bother me but wow, the spring rates on the GP was alot higher then it was on the GTI. Overall though, it rides alot better then the GTI did. I like how the ground clearance is lower then the GTI's and the steering is more responsive compared to the GTI.

I haven't gotten any speeding tickets YET!! LOL (then again, I shouldn't get any since a Judge told me in April of 09 after I got caught doing 93 in a 65 and had to go to Court..Well I was told if I got another speeding violation within a year, I would have to pay around $300.00. My Fine was suppose to be for $900.00 but I only had to pay for $600.00 of it. ---Sorry if that sounds confusing)

Yes, I am loving the GP!!

Here are some Night Shots of the GP...

Thank goodness you stopped driving long enough to post some nice shots of the new baby. I'm glad you're so happy with the deal from the GTI to GP! Is'nt it amazing that new smile on your face a car can bring. MINI's tend to keep it on your face every time you drive it.
