Alpine PDX-2.150

Hi All,
Based on the feedback I have gotten I am going to power the Focal 165 VR3s I just got with an aftermarket amp. I am looking at getting the Alpine PDX-2.150 (http://www.woofersetc.com/p4737/PDX2150--Alpine-2-Ch-300-Watt-Digital-Power-Amplifier.htm) because of its small size and good reviews (at least for other versions of the amp). Anybody have any feedback or experience with this model or line? Any other suggests?

BTW, I only need a two channel (or four channel bridged) amp as I don't use the back speakers. Turned those off once I got the Bass600.

Thanks

I have the PDX5 and love it. Great little amp and it fits, at lest in my car, under the passenger seat. If you have SAT radio it is underneath the passenger seat so the amp will not fit there, other wise it is a great place to put it.

Good luck with your install.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't have SAT so I was thinking of putting the Alpine under one seat and the crossovers under the other.

I have a PDX 4.150 and PDX 1.1000 and they sound great. Besides the front speakers, are you thinking of changing out your rear 6x9's or even adding a small sub in the back? Might I recommend what schatzy62 has a PDX5, or a PDX 4.100? That way you can have one amp, utilize all 5 channels of the PDX5, or bridge two of the connections of a 4.100 for a sub and still have juice for your front speakers as well. Just some food for thought

I was able to fit the crossovers and the amp under the passenger seat. THere is one small module there that can not be moved it is a YAW sensor for the airbag and safety systems.

Others have put the crossover in the door arm rest.

There really is not room under the drivers seat for anything.

Not planning on doing anything with the rears. I got a BASS600 subwoofer and ever since then I have had the fader set to only front. I really am liking that change very much and since I don't have any accessory that plays through the rear speakers, I am going to keep it that way.

OK thanks for the info. I was thinking of trying to put the crossovers in the arm rest, but they are pretty big so I figured that wouldn't work.

Love the size of this amp! Would you be using this bridged? Not sure if 70w X 2 would be enough for the Focals and would be afraid that 250w x 2 would be too much.
