Rain on INSIDE of window

Not sure if this is to be expected, especially with a frameless window, but after a hard rain, I will put my windows down, and when I put them back up, they are very squeaky and have some water and condensation on the inside. Not a big deal. Is this within normal operating parameters, or something I should have my dealer look at?

Don't think I've ever had it on the inner side of window, but yeah, it squeaks quite a bit..! Not really sure if it's a serious issue... As long as the windows roll up & down, it doesn't matter too much

Same with me except! its so LOUD!! only passenger.... the driver side is a lil squeaky. Iv been wondering if I should take it to the dealer and have them check it out.

Btw... When the window is dry and i put it down and up, it seems to me that something is rubbing or pushing up against it. It leaves some streaks and it bugs me especially when I just washed the car...

Those streaks are exactly what I'm talking about! But they seem to be outside and inside.

My driver side windows squeaks a little bit going down and up whether it is dry or wet. Kinda ticks me off because the passenger side window does not squeak at all. Also, I will get a small streak line sometimes towards the front part of the window when it is dry.

Squeaks and streaks here, too. Mostly driver's side, but that's the one I use most, so...

Very annoying.

Is this a glass on rubber squeek? Or, a metal on metal squeek? We haven't had enough rain for me to notice anything. We did get 3 inches in 24 hours recently, but I wasn't driving the MINI in it.

Glass on rubber. Sounds like a pretty common issue.

No squeaks here or water on the inside.

I get it on the outside after a wash, but not the inside. If you put the window down, the inside weatherstripping may get wet and then streak the inside of the window as it goes back up.

Is there a door drain on these cars? Probably. I'd check the bottom of the door to see if it's stopped up, and make sure your weatherstripping looks snug to the window.

Yep, my 08 does this too. Now I have grease all over the window after the last dealer visit for the ghost windows.

Yep i cant stand streaks on the inside towards the mirrors. Most I can do is use a screwdriver with the window down and wrap a rag over it and try and clean the felt to get anything off it.

Never any noises however..

Got it, got rid of it.

After washing the MINI roll the windows down. Wipe the window seal trim where it contacts the window glass. I considered using a rubber protectant on them, but figured it would leave worse streaking. Mildly soapy cleaning rag did the trick.
The seal keeps keeps the interior of the door itself clean and dry while the window is up. Kinda like a windshield wiper for the side window. Rubber gets dry on them, same as the windshield wipers.

Oh yeah, don't ever roll the windows down and then drive off after a rain. Nice way to take a shower in the MINI.

I think I would post a question in the Detailing 101 forum about what silicone products would protect the rubber, stop the squeek, and not show up on the glass. I expect people there will have answers.
