space saver tire for 09 MCS?

I'm trying to find one that works and not too expensive. Anyone have any ideas on where to find this? It's for an 09 MCS. thanks!

i bought a mini-saver spare from mini-mania. it only fits on the back. but when jacking your mini, both front and rear tires are lifted off the ground.

I'm not aware of a space-saving tire that will fit over the front brakes on an MCS. Even the MC 15" wheels wont fit.

Front tire flat

As I understand it, Robin, ....during a front tire blowout - you jack up your mini from the side, raising front and back. You would then place good rear tire on the front. The spare tire, goes on the back.

A bit of a hassle, I realize. All due to larger front braking system.

After switching away from RunFlats, you could also pack a can of Fix-a-flat instead of a spare tire. Just a thought.

Yes, that would be a hassle. When raising the front jack point, the rear will lift a little off the ground if you are on a flat area, there isn't much weight loaded in the rear, and you jack the front way up. Might be just as easy to do the rear first, then the front. Or, carry a 16" wheel.

I carry a sealant/compressor, and a Dynaplug kit.

Would a spacer work for putting the doughnut on the front?

Careful with that Fix-a-flat, Slime, et al stuff. There is forum traffic on NAM about those injected products messing up the Tire Pressure Monitor sensor and sending unit.

Not worried...R56 MCS built prior to 1 Sep 07 don't have the current TPMS setup.

Some MINI owners have used the older Chevy Cobalt, Honda Civic Donuts.

YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO put a spare tire on the front wheels of ANY front wheel drive vehicle!!!!
(brake size is not the reason either)

risk damaging your differential, stressful on the drive train, and handling greatly affected
