Whoo Hooo I Love B&W! I have a Pentax K1000 on my livingroom bookcase still loaded with TriX Pan and a clean darkroom!.....or maybe I'll just go digital. Too bad they discontinued making Kodak HIE Infrared film, that would be perfect. Either way, I love this Topic! Thanx

I still have a roll of HIE. (albeit expired)
Infrared would be nice depending on the sky and/or foliage in the background, but not so much with metal.

But think of the halo effect with the light reflections! And the location could be amazing, now that summer is in full greenery. I have been shooting HIE for 12 years, you could say I'm old school and new school.

BTW, you could sell your roll on eBay for a small fortune!
Check out the shots here:

Here's my 2000 Beetle, looks like I pimped-out my windows, nice effect with HIE

and another

and I gotta add a shot in Wales~

I'm really gonna miss HIE

Love that Wales shot!
Here's one of my feeble attempts at HIE. It's in California's Central Valley.

I can't remember if I used a red filter or not.

Feeble? no attempt at IR is feeble. Its dedication! Kudos!
Oh yes, the all important red filter. One thing I always kept in mind was the location of the sun. I read in a fantastic IR book to always try to have the sun over head, from the side or behind you, never in front of you. I learned that by trial and error, and you know how much those rolls cost. $$$$$
Here a few others...I have a tons!

Overcast day by a creek in a bright green spring wood, sepia toned

Carreg Cennen in the Black Mountains, Wales, overcast~

Same place, color ^_^ ...film

oh oh oh I gotta share this one too!
Tintern Abbey in IR, sepia toned....the stinky way~

I juggled 2 cameras for 2 weeks but it was a once in a life time trip. Can't wait to go back and do it with digital!

My apologies for hi-jacking this thread, can you tell I have a passion for Infrared? Thanx Nammers

That Carreg Cannen location looks mighty inviting!

Have you used Scala? Here's an oldie of my MINI I shot out in the desert here in SoCal using Agfa's positive b/w film.

The entire country is inviting! The place was almost completely silent, all but the sound of sheep bleeting down below. Its my future home....someday ^_^
I am Alabama's (unofficial) Ambassador to Wales so to speak ~

I've tried Ilford and Konica, but always went back to my tried and true Kodak HIE. I may never shot IR again, but I do enjoy experimenting. What other IR films have you tried?

I could find the right location for my idea, so I went with the scaled down version. At least I got an entry in.

I got an entry together too. A really clever idea (if I do say so myself) but I fear it came out looking rather ordinary. Oh well!
