Dear Santa, I've been a good boy this year and I promise...
to be good for the rest of the year if you can produce an aftermarket alternative for more power for my MCS.
It's been 3 model years... Just how long do we have to wait until someone comes up with a reliable, healthy HP and TQ upgrade for the R56.
I mean seriously, 3 model years???
I wasn't very patient and last year installed the Stage I kit. I grow weary of it and I'm on the verge of trading it in for a true JCW.
Please save me the wait and expense and someone get their stuff together...
Thanks Santa,
Your friend,
Mark
PS. I left a bottle of Merlot and some cheese on the table.

Just wondering, do you think you might grow weary of the "true JCW" car after a while if you decide to go that direction? I am happy with my JCW tuned car and have resisted the temptation to test drive the JCW factory car as I don't need the costs, etc. with such an upgrade.....
My limiting factor is my skill rather than an extra 18 or so horsepower!

There are several reasons why I want the JCW.
I want the extra power. On the track, an extra 18HP would allow me to pull on the straights more. I'll give you an example.
Last time at VIR, a new black Corvette would pull like crazy in the straights and pass me. By the time we did the rest of the track, I was on his *** again to the point he would point and allow me to pass.
Then of course, the straights again, and there he goes.
Now, a JCW won't stop him from passing on the straights but it may allow me to pull hard enough through the rest of the track that he may not have the chance to pass me on the straights.
Second, I want a stick again. My first two minis were stick and my mini was my daily driver. When I sold my H2, I used the mini to go to the beach. I got stuck in traffic for 2.5 hours. The clutch thing had to go so I bought an automatic.
The automatic has been great but now that I bought another H2, I don't have to worry about being stuck in traffic at the beach.
As far as growing weary of the factory JCW, I probably will. My last two cars (other than the supercharged H2) respectively was a supercharged 306 in a Miata and a supercharged C5 Corvette convertible. One of my other toys is a supercharged big block in a tubbed S10.
So yes, I'll probably grow weary but at least it will be better on the track.
I think honestly if someone came out with a true tune that I could overwrite my JCW Stage I kit, I could be happy but I want more.....

I gotcha.. good points.
I have been to VIR three times with my dealer JCW and power has not been my issue..... but I have been running with mostly other Minis. I love my dealer JCW MCS and the cost to upgrade to the factory JCW would be way too high for me as I have too much invested with JCW suspension, clear bra, dealer JCW tuning, etc. I also have read about some of the horror stories that some folks have had with other aftermarket tune jobs.

I am pretty sure I would buy a factory JCW car if I didn't already own a 2008 MCS with the dealer tuning kit and all of the other misc. upgrades already invested. The factory JCW car was not on the market when I bought mine in January of 2008.

I agree. I've seen all kinds of threads where guys are putting awsome hp to the ground. It may toast your warranty but that does not seem to be your driving concern.
If I could do it software-wise, I'd do it. I don't want to get into heads, cams, etc..... (still would have to dyno tune)
