I'm tired of dealer prices for maintenance and repairs, and am looking for a good independent mechanic for my '02 MCS in the Long Beach California, Signal Hill or adjacent Orange County area. Have been using Long Beach Mini, but $135 an hour for mechanic time is insane! Thanks for any leads...

I haven't been to Johnnie's (AKA West Coast), but I can echo the recommendation for Minicorsa.

Unfortunate it is 35 miles away!!

I will never go to a dealer unless I have to.

 

Make the trip to Minicorsa and have Danny take care of your ride.

i drove over 70 miles (one way) to Danny at minicorsa for install of my ssk.

i think batrugger and his wife have had about every mod done to kelly's mcs by danny and jan - you could pm him or her and ask them about their experiences. i think they drive nearly 100 miles one way to have danny work on their car! it is inconvenient to drive that far - but hey, at least you're driving that distance in a damn fun little car!!!!!!!!
