Easiest method for clutch/flywheel replacement.

I've been researching into replacing my clutch and flywheel. I will be doing the work myself. The manual and most information I have read say to remove the whole front end of the car. I know that it can be done without removing the front bumper.

I'm looking for the best method for replacing the clutch/flywheel without having to remove the entire front end of the car.

In order to get enough space to tilt the engine down, you need to slide the modular front end forward. The bumper has to come off for that. It isn't much more work compaired to dropping the subframe and everything.

I understand that it is not much more work doing it that way, but I know that the transmission can be pulled from under the car without removing the bumper. I understand that the subframe will have to be removed and there is a lot of bs involved, but I think it would be a bit easier to do it from under. Since I'm cramped for time, the quickest method wins.

You'll need to drop the subframe and slide MFE forward. Take your intercooler off and driver's side exit horm too; it'll make removing and replacing your plastic SC intake duct much easier.

To remove from below, the subframe must come out; the bumper is attached to the crush tubes on the subframe, therefore the bumper must come off before dropping the subframe. The radiator support can remain attached, so in essence the entire front end does not need to come off. Placing the radiator support in service mode will provide much needed wiggle room.

The motor with gear box can be extracted from above without dropping the subframe, but either the hood or the radiator support must be removed for clearance with a crane lift.
