R50/53 Stripes Install in Bayarea CA
I just installed a boot lid protector and it was pretty easy. You soap up the area, lay it on and align it, then squeege out the water/soap with a supplied plastic spatula. It dries in a couple of hours. I think that the Bonnet Stripes go on the same way. The only trick would be trimming them if necessay and setting up your alignment marks.

I am thinking about replacing my OEM black stripes because they are all discolored. I am really worried about getting the old ones off without trashing the hood. I have heard about heating them with a blow dryer to soften the adhesive 1st. I figure putting the new ones on is the easier part...
Larry sent me info about John's European. I called them & they quoted $100.
I called a local tint shop & they quoted $50. let me know if you need this tint shop contact info.
Tint shops or places that do film (like Clear Armour in San Carlos) will do them.
However, when I got a new set and did them myself, they came out WAY better than when Clear Armour did them (although they did a fantastic job on the film install itself).
You can do it yourself pretty easily. Just measure, measure, measure, walk away from it and come back, have someone else look at it, and go for it.

I can, if you're not in too big of a hurry (my schedule generally sucks).
But really, don't let it intimidate you. If you follow the instructions well that are included with the stripes, take your time, and measure several times before actually laying them down, it's very very simple.

I will try to do it, will keep you posted.
You can do it yourself. Do the rear first to build your confidence. I'm useless at everything and I did it myself. Don't worry about the few tiny air bubbles when you put them on. Squeeze out what you can and the rest will disappear over the days. I didn't take the COOPER badge off the boot, I just cut the stripe. Good luck! You'll do fine.
