Suspension h-sport springs testimonials please
hey guys
i was considering the eibach pro kit for my car but after talking to randy im starting to lean toward the h-sport kit which i hear is excellent.
Could anyone with these springs please post your experiences whether good or bad with these springs as well as isuues such as ride(especially those with 17" non runflats) camber problems etc.
Thanks alot in advance guys

I have had the H-sports for several months and probably around 8000 miles. I love them. They make the lesser bumps less but, the harder bumps are a little harder. Overall, I'd say the ride is a definite improvement. I have 205-50-16' non runflats on the car and it handles great. One month ago my wife and I took it halfway across the country to do a open road race. 3500 miles round trip including the race. The car handled the race and the trip extremely well. I am a totally satisfied customer!
OOPs, I forgot to mention camber. Yes with the H-sports you do have a bit of negative camber in the rear. For handling it definitely improves it. As for tire wear, obviously the inside edges of your tires will wear a little prematurely. You can purchase camber links for this but, so far I have not noticed any obvious wear. I have only rotated my tires once so far and that was after 7000 miles with the new springs. Incidentally I have Goodyear F1 GS D3's on her and am totally satisfied with them as well.
ScottG and I installed them on my car Friday, So far the car is like a different
ride, much stiffer(if thats possible), seems to handle the curves better, I also
have a 19mm Alta rear sway bar, I will have pic's monday. ScottG has had them
on his car for a while, rowtate every 5 to 6k this will keep the wear more even,
speak with Randy about the details, I like ScottG am setting mine up for Auto
cross soon. Saving up for the UCC next....

Glad to hear you liked them Kent! Is it too stiff or just right? I love mine. No other car can handle like the MINI, then add the springs, sway bar, and some light wheels, what fun!! Go with what Kent said, rotate your tires every 4K to 5K and you'll be fine on the wear. I just installed the H-sport rear camber links a couple of nights ago. I adjusted some of the negative camber out of it. My wife says it seems to ride smoother. I think it rides about the same. I'll tell you more when I can get the car out of my wife's hands!
I've had them on my MINI for about 4 months now and combined with a swaybar there is nothing better. Doing the swaybar at the same time is a saver on labor as they have everything torn apart anyways so the effort is minimal to add the bar.
I had considered the H&R, but I had friends that complained about hitting the bump stops with extra weight (e.g. kids) in the rear. We've taken several weekend trips and the MINI was leaded to the HILT - The springs worked great and never hit the bump stops.
Only thing is you have to rotate the tires about every 3k miles and you will quickly learn that the stock tires need replacing as they are now what hold you back from rally like handling.

The H-Sports are the best spring out right now, in my humble opinion. The improve the ride smoothness in most situations, improve the ride height, improve the handling, and look great in that brilliant blue  Quite simply, there are NO negatives to this product.
I had them on my last MCS, and I'm putting them on my upcoming MCS.
Cheers,
Ryan

I have the H-sport springs, pair of lower adjustable H-sport rear control arms, madness rear swaybar set to firmest (two hole) and a BMP front tower strut brace. Wheels are both 17x7"
Stock S-lite with Pirelli Run flat performance tires 205/45-17: These are the stock performance set- good grip but not the best on hard cornering, very heavy at about 48 to 50 pounds per wheel, stiff sidewall leads to rougher ride and less responsive on hard acceleration. A little noisy. Very rough on bumpy roads and jarring over speed bumps.
Or
Centerline RPM with Yokohama AVS ES100 non runflats in 215/45-17: These are much lighter wheels at least 11 pounds per wheel less than stock, offer good mileage, great handling in wet and dry, are quiet and smoother riding.
Noticably faster on hard acceleration.
I think the H-sports are very very good and I am happy with them. One inch drop front and rears is good for my wheels. Looks just right and no rubbing at any time loaded with four people or in hard corners. All my other suspension parts work well with the springs.
The rear control arms will allow some driver adjustment for rear negative or positive camber as needed. I didn't like -2.4 degrees, it was not smooth and the car felt harder to control stopping and steering straight. Cornering was not as easy to perform. After alignment to negative 0.75 degrees in the rear the car handled very well all of the time on the street and through hard corners. Ride is smooth and always in control. Power mods have increased my HP to about 185. No pulley and ECU yet. No stumble.

I have H-Sport springs and Alta sway bar. My feeling is mixed. Handling is better, looks better a little lower, but the ride is somewhat rougher - especially on hard bumps.
I'm not sure the handling improvement that I use 1% of the time is worth the rougher ride 100% of the time.

I agree that once you change the suspension you are stuck with it 100% of the time so you had better be sure that this is going to be something that is worth it in the long run. If you live near very bumpy road to get to and from home everyday and this is your daily driver then I would not suggest any lowering of your MINI.
How much of the time do I use the H-sport springs? I would say in general about 50% of my turns make use of the springs. And the majority of them within the speed limit so 25 mpg with a very crisp response. Some will be slightly about 25 but less than 30 depending on road conditions. In heavy traffic or on poor roads then usually much slower.
If you want a comfortable ride then use 15 or 16" rims and stick to the slightly upgraded versions of suspension for the MC or the stock suspension of the MCS. Add good non runflat performance tires, adjust tire pressure to balance understeer a bit, add a rear swaybar with settings on middle or less firm. That set up will be easy to handle for daily use and yet fun when you corner. So put the money in the tires not the springs. Later if you want to add springs then the tires will still help on the corners and also provide a smooth ride most of the time.

I'm a bit confused. Aren't the h-sports a non progressive spring. Therefore with just a bit higher rate they will ride stiffer, correct? The H&R's are progressive and must ride better but rubbing is an issue if you don't want to trim stuff (from what I have read). What about the eibach's are they progressive? How do they fare in the rubbing dept.? I too will lower the car but I don't want rubbing and I don't want to trim ...only as a last resort.

H-sports are a progressive spring. That is why they handle the smaller bumps better but, you will feel the larger bumps more. I got rid of my runflats first. That makes a dramatic difference in ride and is something I would recommend to all. About 1000 miles later I had the H-sports put on. The lowering of the car fit my new wheels and tires perfectly, the handling is improved and for all but the largest bumps the ride is improved as well
