Need help deciding on interior leather for Pepper White!!

So I've finally decided to get a Mini after years of admiring them. I have decided to order Pepper white with the black roof. My only problem is deciding on either Tuscan Beige or Redwood Red for the leather interior. I'm leaning towards Redwood Red. Any Pics or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Leatherette all the way. If you want to drop the $2k, I'd go for the Redwood.

I have the same outside combination I went with the matching look and had Black Lounge and cream interior. It is like the exact opposite of the outside more black and less cream, lol.

I was going to go with the Beige but thought that adding another color might be to much.

We have the Lounge Leather Carbon Black, with the creme piping. I think it matches very well with the Pepper White and Black Top we have.

Another lounge leather here (black). But I did think about the redwood red as a nod to white cars of old that had red (or even sometimes blue!) interiors.

BLACK LOUNGE LEATHER

Black lounge leather with the cream piping. The cream piping matches great with the pepper white. And I sent my middle armrest, both door armrests, emergency brake boot and auto shifter boot to redlinegoods.com and it looks custom check out my gallery for pics. GOOD LUCK!

Just a quick disclaimer that I do not currently own any MINI.

I was able to see the redwood lounge leather on a nightfire red and the black with cream piping on an astro black. I have never seen the Tuscan beige.

IMHO the black lounge leather combined with the piano black dash, chrome line extender, cream color line and anthracite headliner is the perfect complement to pepper white. My next favorite would be the same with the oak dash. Granted, this is a rather dark interior.

It's all personal preference but I feel that redwood looks better with the darker exterior colors. Tuscan beige was never a consideration of mine. I can definitely see someone opting for this to get a lighter interior but I did not like it in combination with the gray or cream colorlines.

Thanks for the input everyone!! I think I will opt for the Redwood leather after remembering my fathers 68 camaro white w/ orange leather and orange stripes from the factory... sounds strange but looks sharp!!!

Remember us in 3 or 4 years when your seats are as wavy as the Atlantic Ocean and you paid $2,000 dollars for them. Invest in a JCW kit if you've got that money to blow.

Leatherette in last 5 vehicles and absolutely no regrets! Price was perfect.

After owning several british cars with red leather seats I've decided they look better after a few years of wear.

Great choice with the RR Lounge Leather! Check out my site listed in my sig for pics ... unfortunately you won't get the black interior side panels because that was a factory mistake!

I have had a few red leather interiors in my time. One was in a 1963 Mercedes 190 SL. Red leather cannot be beat, IMHO.
In leather, red really highlights the overall feel and luxury of it. Red does not work on every car, but I think
it will on the MINI. Part of the reason is because the MINI starts out with unique interior appointments and details,
so red leather is a part of the interior's design and feel.

When in the driver's seat you will be glad you got the red leather interior because it feels like you are sitting naked on
velvet. [Sorry for the analogy, not really, but best I could come up with to describe how luxurious red leather feels. I don't know
how to explain it, it's a sensory kind of thing, the feel and visual aspect of it all.]

Additionally, red compliments the the white exterior and black roof.

Finally, IMHO, a red interior at night is one of the coolest looks around. It's quite striking. Every time you get
into your MINI at night and the interior lights reflect on the red leather, it will be a thrill. You will think of all kinds of
reasons to drive at night and sit at the local market with your doors open.

But holy sheet is leather expensive as a MINI option. What is it $2,000 to $2,400?

From a financial standpoint this is 100% correct because you never get back the expense of a leather option.
Matter of fact, as I recall, most appraisal books give about $100 to $200 add-on to a car's value if it had leather.

Leather as an option is usually picked because someone wants leather in his or her car, that is, the pleasure
one will get from having it as opposed to an investment. I think most people when ordering it as an option
know it will not add much to the price of the car on trade-in or private party sale.

I have leatherette in my MINI [bought it used so I did not have a choice and leather was not on my list of wants
when looking for my MINI.] But based on how solid and luxurious my MINI feels with leatherette, I suspect a leather
interior would really intensify the overall feel of the MINI.

If I was buying new and adding options, I question if I would fork over $2K [?] for leather. That's a HUGE sum
to add to the price of a car, especially the MINI. Assuming one keeps the MINI for five years, that would work
out to $400 a year for the leather option. That seems a lot to me [especially when I sat in my MINI I did not know
if I had leather or not. That's saying how great the MINI leatherette interior is compared to other cars.]

Dude go with the redwood!! Almost every car company offers some sort of Beige. But Red is both striking and rare!! I actually would have gone with white black and red but I LOVED the classic Italian Job Paint Scheme!

Sigh... another thread-killing post with way-too-big pics that make the
thread hard to manage. Fix it already. Reduce the size or delete it.

OP, you might not get too many people looking at this thread because
Okie's pics made the thread hard to maneuver about.

I agree with the ones who argue against leather for the cost but it's the wife's first new car & she picked out what she wanted. It is nice though & when I talk her into trading for an S we'll probably get the same colors/finishes.
