JCW Recaro seat

I've been inquiring JCW R56 RECARO SPORT SEATS from U.K. company.

As far as I know, they come with JCW logo, air bag (side), no heat seat.

I am still waiting to get reply for slider whether I need or its included buying pair of seats from U.K.

Shipping by air freight estimated $600 range from U.K. to USA and tax etc not included.

Attachments were send by U.K. supplier.

Just post the price, jeeze.

It will take months for the International Internet Price Posting Police (IIPPP) to catch up to you. By then you'll be safely in Switzerland.

The seat is for JCW R56 MINI, so it should comes with the slider as well according to the supplier.

My cost is $1,700 each including 2% import tax coming to USA.Can buy one side or both will be $3,400.

Full leather, side air bag, brackets (left/right), sliders (left/right) per seat.Air freight shipping from airport to airport cost $600.

This freight quote usually applys to major US Airports.Above shipping quotation was base on 80 kg volume weight with 2 seats (left/right) and sending from U.K. to LAX Airport.

Read the file from Motoringfile I've attached shows some pre-cautions.Like belt pre-tensioner will not workNeed to be coded...I assume using diagnostic tool to reset something~air bag?

Thanks man.

That's very pricey. Are you getting both seats or one? I think I can swallow 1700 but 3400 is crazy money. That's almost 1/2 the cost of the JCW up-charge.With shipping+tax, it's over the top.

I think it would be less expensive to get get a nice set of Recaro's and then swap them out for the track.

Now start running for Switzerland.

I think its there full retail price in U.K.

If any vendor selling them, it may be cheaper.

Recaro Sportster CS full leather cost about the same here I think.

I don't want to do Group Buy myself, since I am newbie and don't have time to do follow up here at all time.

Yeah, the price for the JCW seats isn't that off base. Here is a link to a site that just sells the Recaro Sportster CS http://www.hmsmotorsport.com/store/s.../recaro-street
So when you're talking $1700 for the seats compared to $1399 for the seats without the airbags, that's actually a steal. Airbags ain't cheap, and for the ability to have them it might just be worth it. I have also been looking into them, and now I might just jump on them.

My main biz is export luxury cars to oversea and hoping to export boats and private airplane as well.

Visversa, I import and export goods too.

U.K. company is just one of comanies I source certain parts from my customer base (offline) biz. Price may be high, but their response time is instant and always good to do biz with them.

Plus, pound sterling vs dollar at this time has much more advantage than before.

The JCW Recaro is also full leather with airbag and made for Mini, so it must be perfect.

Notice that the front passenger occupant sensor will no longer work, so the seatbelt reminder has to be reprogrammed by the dealership. This could be an issue with USA service techs. This controls the passenger side airbags too, not just the seatbelt reminder.

Yes, the weight sensor isn't installed in the Recaro, but you can take your stock seats apart and remove the sensor and use it on your recaros. If you look in the R50/R53 section you can find where it has been done.

I didn't post any company info, cause they also supply other goods to me. Therefore, I didn't want to open the source. Not any personal reason, just business wise.

As we are not an NAM vendor yet, but hope to become one once we have supported applications made for Mini like suspension kit, ecu flash programmer etc.

At this moment, testing market stage and carefully consider expanding from Nissan 350Z market and upcoming Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

If you need to talk to me for now~ I will pm or you can too.

Product currently testing for sale~~

This is a really nice thread. I might be interested if in the end everything works fine like airbags, ect...
Good work and thanks again for sharing.
BTW: Leather, perfect. My JCW09 will have leather so this "should" work like a glove.

Its costly to become vendor, so we are not readily have anything right now.

There are few things we are developing from our oversea office or out sourced the available products for sale relate to Mini Cooper parts.

1) FLASH PROGRAMMER : saves 3 different pre-programmed and interchangeable like Revo Tech, reset CEL. Currently only available for Nissan 350Z and developing by Japanese partner for new R35GTR, Hyundai cars, and trying for Mini. With R56 turbo, its much easy to generate hp.

Tuned softwares can be send by e-mail, and customer can download from their PC to the unit.

Realtime applications are available for dealers only. Running on dyno, the adjustment (calibration) can be done by the shop.

VID not shown : read ecu signal from stock ecu to show on display or send realtime informations to cell phone via bluetooth. Applications are ready for Blackberry phones, but hoping to complete for Iphone as well soon, so we can offer to Apple, AT&T etc.

2) Suspension made by DG-5 Japan for Mini's. 30 adjustable increments for compression, SWIFT coil springs, adjustable front upper piroball and rear fixed type.

3) Due to some request, we found Japan supplier for Advan RS gum metallic wheel for Mini specification.
17 x 7.5 J / +41 offset / 4h x 100pcd and require hub rings. With hub rings, Advan wheel caps will not fit, so we are trying to find solution to have them on and adding hub rings at same time.

Again, we don't have any of them in stock or going to sale right away in California. Most samples are made or being test by our headquarter oversea.

Struts are just couple sample we got from manufacturer and requested to make some adjustment placing different color and thickness etc.

NOTHING FOR SALE IN THIS FORUM!
