Good job! I take it you used the G2 orange kit? I used that on mine and yours seems to be the same texture.

I actually used the Red Duplicolor Kit. Probably about the same either way.

I like the orange look! I need to paint mine again, as they started to peal from a pressure washer gone wrong incident.

do you guys paint the calipers while their still on or do you remove them first? when i did my maxima with high heat spray paint i removed everything from the car. it end up being more of a pain having to bleed the lines and everything. also, how does the paint hold up over time? with the high heat spray paint i used they all end up cracking.

I used the same kit. I ended up with quite a bit of left over paint after 3 coats. Looks Good!

how do you manage to not get any paint on the other parts, like the brake pads and such. does the paint run when you paint it on?

I removed the calipers and disassembled to paint with Duplicolor Caliper Paint. It holds up fine given you cleaned the calipers REALLY GOOD before you paint them.Gravity bleeding the lines is pretty simple.I've sprayed mine repeatedly with high pressure and the paint holds up.

Many very very light coats. When you go really light each time there is no problem of driping. So like when you paint just have very minimal amounts of paint on the brush.

Also use masking tape on all the parts you don't want painted. Cover the lines, pads, and those clips. The G2 stuff is really thick, goes on smooth, and leaves a hard layer. I can take my finger and easily wipe off brake dust because it just cannot get caked into this stuff. The chemicals are also made for the heat and they guarantee it for life. If you were to ever get a chip, all you have to do is send them a pic of it and proof of purchase and they send you a whole new kit for free

I posted this in a similar thread but in case you're subscribed here and not there does anyone have any detailed pics of what I should be painting vs. what I SHOULD NOT be painting? I see SomethingNew's pics above so I can try follow that but would prefer a better description if possible. Thanks.

i.e. the lines pads clips that checkercoop is talking about

Here is the best pics I have of it all

Besides the rotors, you can see in these 2 shots of the fronts some of these things that are covered

This is with the tape off so it can show some spots that had paint on top the paint (the clip I was talking about can be seen by: follow the rotor around from the top...right below the first section of the top side of the caliper is a black metal clip running horizonal...it is best to tape that off)

Heres the rear caliper taped off

And here without the tape. You can see 3 black sections. All 3 were covered with tape. The middle is the break pad wear sensor (only on 1 side) and the 2 outerside black sections are the clips I was talking about

Goodluck

Like usual, you have the info I need. Thanks again. Now I just have to wait for nice weather and an open weekend.

How many coats did you do? 3 ?
