I had the same thing, turned out to be the number plate. I just got some foam/rubber weather stripping from the local Home Depot and put a small strip of it on the plate. No more rattle. Hope that helps.

you may look under the back. there is a tin heat sheild above the muffler that tends to rattle just a slight tweek keeps it from rattling on the bottom of the car.

Make sure that the seat belt buckle is not rattling against the door frame when unbuckled and free. That really will make a loud rattle.

I had a rattle back there that was driving me nuts. It turned out it was the boot cover(if that is what it is called.) The part that does not let you see the contents in the boot. It was not pushed all the way in. Somehow the one side was not clicked all the way in.

I had the same thing and it would not go away no matter how much I adjusted the boot stopper plugs. I tried the electrical tape around the loop where the boot latches trick, and have been rattle free for a while now. I am going to have to replace the tape soon as it is starting to come back, but it fixed it for a good 7-8 months.

I would suggest trying this to see if this is the problem, and if it is, maybe look for some alternative way to fix it or just do the electrical tape thing.

I had the rattle, too, and something that sounded like a muffled "met me moutta mere" over and over. It went away after about a week.

For other ideas, check my earlier thread titled, "funny smell coming from boot."
