Ok, not that it seemed as if I had any true takers (what are you people, a bunch of Steelers' fans?!?!?!
), but I now have scored a ticket to the game, so the viewing gathering will have to wait to until the aforementioned Steelers invade the lakeshore next Sunday at 8PM!!!

Hmmmm... whatever happened to the original "Are you ready..." thread ?
Okay, I'll use this newer version to call out ALL YOU COWBOY fans. Yeah, you're out there. America's team, and all.
Another year without a playoff win. This time, not even going.
And due to a thorough beatdown by my beloved Eagles.
Not much humility, huh ? Funny... but I don't care !!!!

It was a difficult loss to watch, even for a Cowboys hater like me.
Oddly, one of my San Antonio Spurs echoed my opinion that character counts, even in pro sports, and eventually some of the characters on Dallas caused that humiliating loss.
I feel bad for a few of the guys on the team, like Jason Whitten and maybe, Tony Romo, but until Jerry Jones divests himself from that team and takes the likes of Terrel Owens and Adam Jones with him, I will never respect or cheer for the Dallas Cowboys.

Did you hear they are looking for an athlete to stand in for **** Clark for the ball dropping on New Year's Eve? Yeah, they have it narrowed down to someone on the Brown's team cause they are SO good at dropping the ball!

Yeah, Jason Whitten is likeable... but ROMO ?? And I agree with the Jerry Jones/T.O./Pacman Jones comment.

Unprecedented court ruling in Cleveland, Ohio
c/o Jon Dunn (sorry had to post)
Cleveland, OH (AP) - A seven-year-old boy was at the center of a Cleveland courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible.
The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him.
After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.
After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Cleveland Browns, whom the boy firmly believes is not capable of beating anyone.

I'm conflicted on this point. Romo is Raza, German-Mexican heritage, apparently. Early on I wanted to see him succeed.
I've liked him less each season as his celebrity and mental toughness seemed to come into conflict. When you've had some of the losses he's had, it's hard to accept his celebrity endeavors, i.e. messing with Carrie's Underwear or Jessica's Samesong, all the while projecting a "football isn't everything" attitude.
While I know football indeed, is not everything, it's not what you want to hear after a devastating loss.
