removing dead pedal, and gas pedal?

I'm re carpeting the mini in the next week with black carpet (pure black, not anthracite or dark gray, etc.)

I know somewhat on how to get the deal pedal off. But the gas pedal I haven't even messed with. Everything else I've removed already (kick panels, all consoles, etc)

I took the gas pedal off once to swap my black carpet for the lapis blue. It was a ***** and I honestly cannot remember how...but my dad did break the pedal and we found one on ebay for $10 to replace it with! Now I have two good bodies and one good pedal

I don't remember if there's a screw...

but there's a clip, then the pedal assembly slides twards the brake pedal. The wires are pretty easy to undo once you have the assembly off the floor.

There is a tab in the middle of the assembly on the left side. This tab needs to be pressed down towards the floor while pushing the assembly towards the brake pedal (left). It takes a little bit of doing as the steering column partially interferes with the upper portion. After the assembly sides out of the mount, then the wiring needs to be disconnected. It is fastened with a simple compression fitting. Just squeeze each side and pull the connector out.

Hope that helps.

thanks guys.

ill be doing this maybe tomorow. i need to re-carpet my car with black carpet, so i can finish the front trim panel on the wall.

then im getting the kick panels wrapped in vinyl (to match my side rear panels) the top/bottom parts of the dash in vinyl (center parts will be suede, and a/c rings and speedo ring, etc will be painted black.

seats will be all black, might do a preferated black suede in the center, dont know yet. gonna get the MINI logo stiched in them too.

then i just need to fiberglass my door panels for all the speakers, and get those covered in vinyl, then im pretty much done with the MINI. after all that though its getting repainted Jet black (including ALL chrome, and the wheel arches, etc.
