newbie needs help

Hola, been on this site for quite a while, 1st post. few questions, i'll be placing an order for a clubman S end of this month for october delivery. here's what i got so far:
"Bella Mia"
*ss w/ blk top
*chrome exterior and interior
*premium
*cold weather
*lsd
*aero kit
*xenon headlamps
*leather/cloth hc
*anthracite headliner
*english oak int , eo wheel & ****
*blk sport stripes
my questions is, should i get sport suspension even though i plan on replacing springs to lower " Bella Mia" no more than 1"?
i've omitted sports package cause i want to go w/ 16" wheels for ride comfort. will purchase wheel and tire package - no run flats. 205/50 16 i believe is the proper fit? 16 x 7 40 offset?
can anyone recommend a performance all season tire? and lastly, what do you think of bronze wheels on ss?

Sounds like an awesome Mini.

If you are looking for comfort ride then stay away from the sports package.

I would have to see the bronze against the ss but my thought with out seeing it is no.

If you live in NY state you probably would be better off going with two sets of tires one for summer and one for winter if you have the room to store a second set. I have found that SNOW tires do a much better job than all season in the snow.

eyevin are you going with the HC color? Here is a thread on bronce wheels, plus there is a link posted to more bronce wheels.

I'm thinking of going with them at some point as well. I think a lot of us Hot Chocolate owners are just waiting for some one to pull the trigger on bronze rims so we can see what it looks like.
How about you be our guinea pig

Do a search on the springs there is someone that posted pics of lowering their Clubie
Welcome to the forum. You'll have a mix of very happy owners with very impatient soon to be owners that can't stand the LONG wait. I'm obviously the later

As far as my knowledge Sports Package is

1. Sports Suspension (springs, sway bars i think)
2. Xeon Headlights with power wash
3. Sport strips (Black or Silver)
4. 17" Wheels (two choices)

So i would say if you want 16" wheels and a softer ride remove the $1500 ($2000 depending on wheels) package and just get the strips ($98 to $165 plus install) you want and save the extra to go toward your new rims and lowering parts.

The only thing that i am not sure about is the Xeon headlights with power wash. They may not be available with out the sports package and i find them to be very valuable during the winter months with all the sand and salt. I have not had my Mini through a winter yet but my BMW has them and if they work even half as good as on the BWM then they are worth looking itno.

thanks geoffv, i did a search on suspension and have decided to opt out of sport suspension. i'll do susp on my own, springs & struts, maybe coilovers and definitely sway bars.

and sorry - hc is the interior. hc leather/cloth on a sparkling silver clubmahn.
thanx for the link.
can't wait to order my clubmahn, then the wait really begins

I have xenons - no sports package...but I have a non s Clubman, hard to think that you wouldn't be available as just an add on for the S. I am a xenon fan.

*Oops, I see we posted simultaneously.

I think I read somewhere on one of the NAM forums that the S comes standard with the base models "Sport Suspension" and the S's sport package adds an even stiffer suspension than the sport suspension on the base model. I would suspect that this follows suit for the JCW as it likely offers the S's sport suspension as standard.
