I've Got My Microfiber From DP - How Often Do I Wash Them?
I received my order from Detailers Paradise. Washed all the microfiber items in plain detergent and let them air dry. Everything looks great, but I have a few more questions regarding how to maintain them.
Specifcally, how often should I wash them. I assume that the waffle drying towel needs to be washed after every use since it will probably pick up residue left on the car after a wash. But what about the microfiber I would use to apply the Hydro? Does it get washed after each use? Or are you using the waffle towel to appy the Hydro as you dry? Same question about the microfiber glass cloth?
Finally, should I Hydro the window glass and sunroofs?
Thank, Rich

I wash my waffle weave towels after every use. And yes, I'm using Hydro after every other wash and the waffle weave towels will have Hydro on them.
The Monster Fluffy towels... depends on how dirty the MINI was (hence, how dirty the towel got). As soon as I can see it getting dirty, it goes on my washing pile. Of course, I have 8 of those, so I'm pretty quick on the trigger. I'm using Griot's Speed Shine when I use these. But you can also use Hydro as your Quick Detailer.
The glass cloths, I wash them every week and by the time they get to the machine, they are pretty filthy. You can't hurt your glass by using a dirty glass towel.

i wash after every use too just get a bunch of MF towels and have
your own MF towel-only laundry basket. and just machine wash when
it gets kinda full.
for really soiled towels, you should wash right away.

Yep, I have 8 Monster Fluffies, 8 Waffle Weaves, 3 Starfish Towels, 4 Glass Cloths, 4 Skinnies, 6 Platinums, and I even have two of those giant brown microfibers that DP sold for a short time.
I have no problem filling a washer with mf every week.
And another good tip: Don't use your Monster Fluffies on places where they're not really needed. Here's a good "rag" to use on your wheels, door jambs, rain channels, under the bonnet, etc:
Twelve of them for just $8.99 !!!!! Here's their write-up.
Twelve Micro Fiber Wipe-Down Towels
A Unique, Disposable, Washable, Reusable, Ultra-Soft Wipe-Down Towel. This Will Be Your New Favorite Car Care Towel. Guaranteed
Even after a thorough car wash, there are times when you still need to wipe down areas where grease, dirt and grime hide... and you don't want to contaminate and stain with your nice Micro Fiber towel or chamois. For those areas such as door-jambs, seams, engine bays, trunk and engine gutter rails and wheels with left-over brake dust, I use these ultra-soft, premium grade, non-woven Micro Fiber towels. Perfect anywhere you need a quick touch up. Did I mention they work great as a window wipe down towel, too? Set includes twelve 13" x 13" towels that are machine washable! Cheap enough to be disposable, strong enough to use over and over! Keep them handy in the car for accidental spills, or keeping your windows streak-free. These are a favorite of mine.

I have a whole herd of starfish. Love'em. Use them once on each side, then flip them inside out, use them again, then wash'em.

You should Hydro everything that you can. It won't hurt and it will make the water run off of the windows just like the rest of your car. Don't be bashful with it although you can use it sparingly as it goes a long ways. I typically use a leaf blower to get most of the water off, move the car into the garage, spray it down with the Hydro and proceed to dry the whole thing.
Sounds like an invitation to getting your MINI sand-blasted (or worse)
off on my hobby cars. i have a cordless leafblower but the charge
doesnt last long enough for me.
Nah, the leafblower won't hurt the paint, unless you're tossing sand into the airstream.
Actually, you're a lot less likely to induce swirls in the paint with a leafblower (sorry ken... or a SHOP VAC) than you are even with the best Microfiber towel. With the leafblower, nothing is touching the paint but air.

I usually blow on it myself (I have large lungs)
Usually takes about 30 minutes to dry the whole mini or until I pass out
