I read on another post that
Apparently, starting in the spring of '03 production, MINI started putting brake wear sensors in the LF and RR pads. None of the backing plates that he's seen are perfect for this style sensor. He guesses that the brake manufacturers will change their backing plates eventually.
Anyone know if the Greenstuffs will accomidate the wear sensors? Or how to adjust for them?

Thanks,
Ryan

Typically EBC will not accomodate the use of OE wear sensors on most applications.

Could this be setting off the abs and DSC warning lights?

Bisch, are you having a problem with the sensors?

Anyone else experienced similar issues?

A friend of mine just installed h&r springs, ebc greenstuff pads. The ABS light, flat tire, and DSC lights are all on. The run flat light won't even reset...
His car is an '02...MCS

Just ordered my redstuff today from Helix. Eric told me that the connectors would not fit properly to the current back plates. He just tapes up his harness against the suspension so it would be non functional. The new proper backing plates won't come into line for another 6 month

Sounds like one of the ABS sensors did not get reconnected, or was damaged when the work was done. ABS, flat tire and DSC all work off those sensors.

I sent an inquiry to the guys over at EBC and their reponse was:
The rear pad ( 1 only) has a hole at the top for the push in wear indicator.
So everything should be fine.
I get my pads on friday from Outmotoring.com. Will post my findings soon after.

WRONG! The rear pads do not have a cutout for the electronic sensor that MINI started putting on sometime mid 2003. The company said they were unaware of the change and would be looking into it. Meanwhile, they suggested not using it and just visually checking the wear after about 6 months.

Its hard to tell from the picture but, it appears that with very little effort you could cut out the required slot for the sensor. Either a die grinder or mill it out if you wanted to take to machine shop. Use the OEM pad as a pattern. Any other ideas?
