Help me figure out when my Clubman will arrive

"Stella Blue" is being produced right now. She will be complete on 6/30 then has to make in on a ship to NYC, through the distribution center. then off the Peabody for dealer prep and then its my turn!

Based on your experience, when can I start my motoring fun?

Hi nclin,
Boy am I jealous! I ordered 2 1/2 weeks after you, also from MINI of Peabody, and STILL no production date! All I can get out of them is delivery MIGHT be the beginning of October. Hard to believe the lead time could have changed that much in such a short time (yes, I know it's a popular car) which has me wondering if the individual MA makes a difference... Anyway, happy motoring and looking forward to seeing pictures!

Sounds like we will be on the same ship. My clubman is done on July 1st. My MA said 3-4 weeks after that we should have it. On the week 27 thread people are saying the next boats are leaving on July 5th and will arrive in the U.S. either the 19th, or 17th depending on shipping line. I am expecting right around August 1st to be driving it. Orignially the MA said end of August start of Sept. We ordered 5/21. Hope this helps!

Xcoastie,
I'm glad my MINI will have another Clubman to hang out with on the ship. If you hear which ship they're on, please let me know. I will do the same.

elegantmini,
I just looked through my file. I received my production number on May 21, which is when the dealer must have received details about the July production run. I think if you made the August production run you should have it by now. I do know the factory seems to be gaining, so maybe you'll get a pleasant surprise like I did!

This is painful!

I just checked the MINI of Peabody site--our Motoring Advisors have morphed into Sales Councilors! Arrgghh!!

8 weeks now and I'm still stuck in the order bank. I knew it would be a long wait but was told I'd have a production number to track the progress. Anyone else here order from MINI of Peabody during the month of May? Do you have a number?
Thanks

After going through the waiting process twice I can only say that it will never be soon enough but that you will forget all about the waitonce it arrives and you get to drive it out of the dealer lot. Keep on breathing...

....speaking of driving off the dealer lot, any suggestions on the manual trans? As I've only driven 10 minutes of parking lot time with an S about a month ago, and am taking delivery in two weeks, I've never driven manual before, and don't know anyone who has one to let me learn.

And MAN would it kill me to have to let my father drive my new car off the lot...I think I'd rather stall it three times at the dealer than let him drive it home

oh boy this has written all over it.
Your MA will get a kick out of you attempting to leave the dealership
Hey at least you realized that a mini should be driven as a standard. Once you figure it out you'll love it, especially in the S version.

Since its your first time with a manual I suggest u bring a video camera u might want to post the results on UTube.
I drove both the stick and the auto, went with the stick, for me it was no contest.

That could only be too embarrassing...and likely a moment I'll want to forget.

Did you get your order number? I am showing at the distribution center. Hoping they transport today to Peabody! My MA said they need the car for 3 days, so I'm anticipating picking up next week!

Hi nclin,
Apparently the 2 1/2 weeks between when you ordered (from the same dealer) and when I ordered, made a HUGE difference. I have a number, but so far it hasn't been very useful. The fellow I spoke with at ASK-MINI earlier this week confirmed it is a legitimate number--but it's just sitting there. He seemed genuinely surprised (maybe he's a good actor?) when I told him how long ago I had placed my order. The subject of dealer allotment was raised, along with the question about model year. Perhaps I'll end up with a 2009?

Dear Elegantmini,
If you have an order number, I bet you'll make the August production run. Once they start production, you'll feel relieved and your MINI will be here before you know it. Good luck!
