Help with splittting headlights for painting

Hi i've searched and couldnt find anything, i've seen this done before where people have split the headlights and painted inside them, I wanted to try and get clued up on this before attempting to split my xenon lights.

Are there any guides on how to do this, photos or anyone that can point me in the right direction.

Cheers
luke

on a really hot day, you can actually just leave them outside, and split them after they're all nice and hot

We put ours in the oven. It was scary but it worked!

I went around the perimeter of the lens with a blow dryer for about 10-20 mins while prying and that seemed to work pretty easily. Did that with post-lift 05-06 xenons though.

The older lights, pre 2005 are much harder to do. Some have been successful heating them & prying open. I was not, and ended up cutting open with a dremel tool with a 1.5" cutting disk. Not easy or quick, but it got the job done.

Oven method did not work on my 04s either, the housing started to melt before the glue would let go. I did a lot of prying and cutting.
