Does it have to be "professional" fogs? You could DIY for $15 or so at Home Depot. lol.

I used my existing side-reflector lights to run the fog wires. In other words, I get lights as "fogs", but no lights on the side of the front bumper.
Dad has original fogs on his MINI, and only when we park next to each other you can see a little difference.
Anyways, good luck with what you decide.
Leo.

I have a 2005 MCS convertible, but it does not have fog lights. I want the fog lights that mount to the lower bumper. You can look at my gallery for pictures of my car. I did those that attach to the top grill...
I want to install in on my car but I need some information. I hope a guro can help me.1. What type of fog lights fit my car?
2. Where can I buy them?
3. Is it an easy install or do I need to take it to a shop.
4. How do I use spell check?
You could wire any type of fog light to your car I would think. Just a matter of where you want to put them. If your wanting to put them on the lower grill. you'll have to get a mount. some kits come with the lights, or you can just buy the mount, and buy your own lights. You can find the kits at most of the vendor's website on here. try outmotoring.com or moss... everybody (well alot of them) carry fog lights. I'm pretty sure the install is not do difficult.. but i dont know how handy you are when it comes to this type of install. Check out the how to section.. and I think there is a how to there... good luck!
MINI sells a fog light retrofit kit. You can order it from a dealer (suggest checking with Classic MINI: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...%2Fclassicauto). In addition to the kit, you will also need to get a toggle panel with the fog light switch. If you install it yourself, you will still need a dealer to program your car's computer.
My car came without fog lights, and I installed the retrofit kit myself. The installation is fairly involved because you have to install a new wiring harness. Look at these instructions and see if you are comfortable with doing it yourself: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t_Retrofit.pdf

They are factory MINI parts and won't be cheaper from a 3rd party vendor. Your best bet is to order them from a dealer that does discount part sales, such as Classic MINI or Morristown MINI.
When I bought the kit and toggle panel in 2005, the parts with discount came to about $200 (MSRP was probably around $250). Now that production of 1st gen MINI has ended (except for the last of the 2008 cabrios), you might have to buy all the parts individually if a kit isn't available. Dealer installation cost will be significant (more than the parts).

Your best bet would be to buy the factory fog light housings (comes with bulbs, ~$65/each) and install that. Then run your own wires to a toggle inside the cabin or just wire them using the wire for the driving lights or the side reflector lights. Be sure to change the fuse though, it's probably too little.
To use existing wires you could cut the ends off, buy the proper female end connector and splice into the wires.
