I just went from stock to JCW exhaust. The difference in sound is very small, maybe a little louder when you get on it. Lots of people say its actually quieter. The car felt like it had a little more oomph! after I got it on, and I always hated the beer bottle tips - so I have no buyers remorse. Morristown mini had a decent price on it and it qualifies as OEM when it comes time to sell. (hows that for a rationalization?) If you're looking for more exhaust note, I'd look at other aftermarket options.

Considered the JCW but got a Milltek instead, much nicer sound without drone, little more power and you don't see those dang cans hanging down. Couldn't be happier!

Definitely go Milltek. I did for my 05 but when I got my 06 JCW, the JCW pipes were jjjust good enough to keep me from dropping $7-$800 for another set of Millteks(which I just loved). The stock setup had that loaded pampers look from the back which both the Milltek and the JCW gladly avoid.

+1 for Milltek.
