Opening the bonnet from the FOB

EDIT: By bonnet, I meant boot!!

How is this accomplished? I can't figure it out...

I have the alarm system, so I know if I hold it for 2 seconds the alarm goes off. Other than that, I got it to unlock once (not sure how).

How exactly does it unlock? Should your doors be locked or unlocked? And is there a way to get it to open all the way, or does it just pop open a little for you?

Thanks for any help!

Not the Bonnet, but the "Boot" can be opened with the Comfort Access FOB. There is a separate button on the FOB for the Boot. You can also press the Button on the Door Handle and that will unlock all doors including the Boot.

Don't hold it for 2seconds. It takes about 1 second maybe a tad more to pop the hatch. It's a fine balance between opening the hatch or setting off the alarm. I set it off about 4 times demonstrating that "feature" to my friends.

It pops, it doesn't open all the way up. (At least mine doesn't. It's not like on our Jeep where when you hit the button, the rear window swings itself up and open.)

American --> British translation:

Hood -> Bonnet
Roof -> Hood
Trunk -> Boot

A very fine balance...

What I'd like to figure out is how to open the boot with the fob in the ignition and the engine running. I've been shutting the engine off and pulling the fob if I forget something I wanted out of the boot.

Hit the unlock button a couple times on the toggle switches, open door, walk to back of car, open boot.

as long as the door is unlocked, you can use the button that is on the rear hatch. you might need to feel around for it.

Duh.

I figured it out today. I need to flip the lock toggle on the lower switch row and then I can open the boot with the engine running.

The boot release mechanism is quite finicky; I have to press the button on the fob several times before it would actually unlatch.

Just hold down the boot/hatch release button and wait for the open/pop sound.I was use to the trunk opening right away on my 2006 Mustang GT from the key fob.I had to figure that out when I bought my MCS that there is a slight delay after pressing the button.

I have the factory alarm so I can't hold the button down too long or it will trigger the alarm.

Gotcha.
The factory alarm isn't listed in your sig which would have been a different reply then.
