2 inches of water in foot well...

Climbed into my '06 Cooper this morning and discovered 2 inches of water in the passenger foot well!!! YIKES!! It took three bath towels to soak up the lake! As I was driving to the dealership to get it fixed, I could see the water steadily dripping from beside the glove box door at the door trim. I see from another thread here that the cause could be the roof drain holes, although I did have a look up there when I got to the dealership and they did not look clogged (?). I still have the stock windshield, so I am ruling that possibility out for now.
Anyways, I told them at the dealership that I wanted the leak found, the floor carpet lifted and thouroughly dried out, and hopefully, they check for any water near the electronics behind the dash (?). Sure glad this is covered under warranty. Hate to think of the labour costs to repair this off warranty!
It's raining like mad here today...wonder if they'll park my car outside until they work on it...morons!!!!!

Sounds a lot like what we have going on only ours in on the drivers side. We checked the top part of our sunroof drain and it is connected. Please let me know if your dealer finds the problem, as we will let you know likewise!

It could be your heater core is leaking or dead. Do your windows steam up as the car warms up?

No, the windows don't steam up. But my "dealer experience" just hit a new low. I did not get a phone call from them, so I stopped in on my way home from work. Guess what!? The idiots left my MINI outside all day (they never got around to taking a look)!!!!
What's with that!?!? When you take your vehicle in for servicing because it has 2 inches of water in the foot well, and its still pouring rain like crazy outside, don't you think it would be a wise and prudent thing, on behalf of the customer, to leave the LEAKING VEHICLE INDOORS!!!!!?????
Needless to say, I insisted they bring my vehicle indoors out of the rain until they could have a look at it.
Don't people THINK anymore?

Sorry for your water issues - yuck - bummer - not fun - and the dealer leaving it outside? Well - that's just plain

Well, they finally had a look, and it turns out the little drain hose which runs from the sunroof and up behind and inside the window trim was disconnected. So, if you ever see a steady stream of water entering the front cabin area near the glove box lid adjacent to the door trim, you too will know what the problem is. I do love my MINI, but some design elements leave me shaking my head (and drying my carpet!).

Thank you for posting this. I do believe this is what we are dealing with, only on the drivers side. Do you know how long it took to fix?

Well, it took 2 days before they even had a chance to look for the cause, and I guess 1 day to actually do the fix (said they had to remove the headliner to get at the tube).
I guess now I just wait for the other side to disconnect (hopefully NOT).

We had our sunroof leak fixed over the weekend (drivers side). For future reference, if anyone needs to know, our drain was disconnected near the bottom, and it took about an hour to fix (Mini of Peabody).
