Hi, I am looking to buy my first Mini and this forum has been great. I have found a 2002 with only 5,600 miles for $13K. It is yellow with black bonnet stripes. The car is garage kept and has never seen the rain. It is loaded with options, like steering wheel controls, fun flat tires, front and second row sunroof, lojack, winter package, etc. As you can imagine, it looks brand new.

Should I take the plunge?

If its an "S" its an awesome deal-- if its a MC its a good deal... What transmission does it have? Some of the earlier transmissions had issues from whats been said on this forum. Best of luck!

 

It is an MC, not an S (I wish). It has the 5 speed manual.

As far as packages go, they sound pretty standard, nothing all that special. Does seem like a good deal for a car with that low of miles. Only thing to be wary of is that that 02 is the first year and that this car may not have any of the bugs worked out since it hasn't been driven much. How does Carfax look? I saw one locally that was like that and it had a weird Carfax. It was one of the first and was missing the port entry on the Carfax. I passed.
