Build issues when tracking newly ordered Clubman S
Hey everyone,
As a new member to the Mini family, I have a little question for all of you who have already taken delivery of your Clubman S models. Upon ordering my little bundle of joy and attempting to track it, I see some that the Clubman S I am tracking is entirely different than the one I ordered. Is this normal? Will it change over time when the paper work gets straightened out, or should I give the dealer a call?

Dealers already have a certain allotment of models. As I understand it, they "spec" these themselves, then reconfigure as customers place orders. That's probably what you're seeing. It should correct in a few days.

2. Owners Lounge: Once you have your production number you can goto www.miniusa.com and sign-in to the owners lounge. The 1st few days the info may be wrong (color etc) but it will correct itself soon enough. This is really the slowest to update of the various tracking options. Anyway this is also 1 or 2 ways to get your VIN. Once the Owners Lounge (OL from here on) has your correct car, goto the Where's my baby? page. You need to see the HTML code here, so if you have MS Internet Explorer right click anywhere on the page and select 'View Source', for Firefox use the view menu and select 'Page Source'. There will be 2 lines way down the page with your VIN along with all your order options as well as your dealer’s name. Write this down somewhere!
Thanks for the help everyone. I was hoping the above was the case, and now I can remain at ease. My Clubman S (she has yet to be named, but will be when I think of something appropriate) is rather stock, but I did toss in a few extras. Without further adieu: Lightning Blue with Silver roof, silver bonnet stripes, a panoramic sunroof, multifunction steering wheel, all season tires (a must for North Jersey I'd say), and she's an automatic. My brother owns a couple of classic minis (a 76 Morris, and a 94 Austin), and he's been torturing me with regard to this fact since the order was placed. Oh well. heh

Thanks for posting the link to that other tracking thread. I had only been checking the status of my MINI online, but decided to call the Ask MINI phone number. Although it says waiting to be scheduled online, both the automated system and live representative just told me my car went into production on April 14th! I was expecting a May production date, but hey, I'll take the early start.
Great news ncgator! Yes, relax and let the obsession continue unabated, Jonathan - your Clubman sounds beautiful. I really do like that blue - almost got it.

The anticipation is a MAJOR part of owning a MINI. I ordered a Clubman S and aited almost 6 mo to get it---and it was never HC on the lowner's lounge. If your MA has confirmed what you ordered you should be okay.
