Really inexpensive JCW plugs - BKR7EQUP...

I found the NGK BKR7EQUP plugs for the JCW motor at
www.clubplug.net/retail for $8.07 each. Basically $33.00 EACH less than than the dealer's retail price

Yep they're affordable at Sparkplugs.com too! I'll be trying those plugs after I install my ultrik camshaft next month. My Denso IK 22s are spent.

So, why on earth are these selling for $42.00 each from Mini? A little lubrication would be nice

I ordered a set yesterday at NGKwholesale.com for $7.67 each. I'll have them put in when the Craven 15% pulley that's on its way gets installed.

I called the dealer and asked why they needed a 500% markup on sparkplugs...

The dealer price is quite high but it also goes through a lot more hands. Plus you get those fancy MINI boxes.

Plugs go from NGK to MINI central warehouse, from there to outlying warehouses and then to the dealers. Add in all that shipping and markups especially at the dealer level since plugs are a high profit item. When buying from the much lower cost places they go from NGK to warehouse to you.

True, but doesn't this case seem just a bit extreme?

In a world more aware of global warming - tis a big part of my field - the steps required to bring this spark plug to me via BMW is boggling! This feels like Fiji's water distribution system; why on earth do we pay for water to be shipped half way around the world??? No wonder Fiji costs $8.00 - $10.00 a quart.

When the added steps require a 500% markup on a psark plug, the end user does not benefit. And, I assume that at 500% less than the BMW price, some one is still making a profit.

mbcoops...his repsonse was a long slow, but emphatic "wowa...are they used?" I only called for effect...I'm a weenie sometimes

Would these be the plugs you'd want if you had a 15% pulley?
