New ASA JS1 16" wheels! They are SWEET!! (*edit* NOW W/PIX
I just wanted to say a BIG thankyou to alex at the tire rack for getting me hooked up with these awesome wheels. They are to replace the impulse purchase of Kosei K1 Racing wheels. Great for Auto-X, just not the look I was hoping for on my daily driver. We all make mistakes.-
I'll have pics posted by tonight. It monsooned on my car this AM on the way to get the new rims installed, so my MCS is not picture worthy. I'll clean it up this afternoon and post pix.
Again thanks Alex@tirerack.com !!

I said the same thing yesterday when Brandon (MiniMac) recommended them without. So I had drove up with them on when I went to meet him and then I took one cover off. He said he liked it. I said, yeah, it kinda looks more technical. Exactly what you said.
I think this combo would look killer on a Silver or Dark Silver MINI. Does anyone out there have these JS1s on a silver or dark silver MINI?

>>VERY NICE i like them better than the other ones you had on. Motor on.
Yes, I whole heartedly agree!! Those Kosei are the "thing" to have when racing on a budget, but since it's my daily driver I wanted something with style as well. Hence the reason for spending all sorts of money to get it right.

i like smoother look with caps.
i have a quick question. i got a mcs brg/w with bonnet stripes coming in oct. i'm kinda leaning toward white painted wheels to give it a unique'er look. ie. ASA LW5 16x7.5 or SSR GT1 16x7. i know you had the kosei's on before. did you switch because it was too white and stood out? or was it because of the wheel design itself? how about if i got the GT1's, which are a pretty nice set per other mco'ers, in white? i just don't wanna look like those ricers with white wheels.

IMHO, white is very stylish when you have a white roof!!
I had the 8-spoke white wheels on there but they were more difficult to clean 8 spokes. Since I clean them every other day, 8 spokes vs 6 is a big difference in time spent. I love white wheels because they really accent my LY/W MCS. However, I got silver becuase the JS1 5 spoke design doesn't come in white. I originally went with the Kosei's becauise they look great online on the tirerack and they were the lightest in my price range (under 160 a wheel). However once on the car, they didn't suit me. I didn't "grow" into them either. So that's why they're for sale and I got the 5 spoke. I'm more partial to 5 spoke than 6 spoke stylistacally.
>>what are the weights and $$$ if you don't mind my asking?
18 lbs (only 3 lbs heavier than the Kosei's). They were 109.00 each. Very inexpensive for such a great looking tire! See here: ASA JS1 info
