Yippee! The wife and I are going to trade our '06 R53 for a Clubman S. Now I need to settle on colors. I'm down to either silver or sparkling silver with a black roof and black stripes. Unfortunately I'm having a hard time finding good pics of either. And since we just had a baby I can't make it to San antonio to see them in person. Anybody got any to share?

 

Don't have a pic but I saw a sparkling silver with black roof at MINI of St. Louis last weekend. Beautiful combination - best one I've seen.

Yes. I think stripes are certainly a personal preference. Kind of like how crispy you like your toast.

 

Try searching the forum and showing results as posts not as threads. I recalled one about sparkling silver and searched it and got this for you https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...arkling+silver Check it out and see if any of the links within help...then try the search for your other silver. I'd suggest leaving out the word "black" in your search.

Here are some pictures pulled on the Mini UK configurator site wallpaper offerings. Having seen Sparkling Silver in person, I can't vouch for the accuracy or saturation of the color in these pictures which seem pale to me, but, when I look at the paint on a Mini in person, it appears to me to change color depending on the nature, amount and direction of light shining on it, which may be true of most, if not all, metallic paints. I would have named the paint "Sparkling Champagne" which is what the color looks like to me (and to my wife who is an interior designer).

Thank you all - as I wrote (mistakenly in another thread entirely), I've been doing a lot of my browsing via iPhone these last few days, so it's been tough to search properly. That and NAM's galleries are great for a lot, but I think they could be improved in terms of helping display the breadth and real-world look of various colors and options.

After all my bouncing around (first I wanted PW/B), I think I've finally landed on CR/B. Go figure!

Exactly like that, except I'll probably go with web spokes. Have them and like them on the R53, even if they're a pain to keep clean. Wish I could justify the cost of black R90s.
