Hello Milwaukee and Madison MINI Friends!!!

the MINIs Motoring Against Cancer banner will be at the CMMC Spring Drive on SUN Mar 9.

I will have the banner on display at the Burlington rest stop where both clubs meet. All contributors will get to sign the banner and I'll try to get a group photo with both CMMC and MM clubs with the banner.

Chicago Indoor Racing (CIR) has donated four (4) "Arrive & Drive" passes that will be raffled off at the Drive. Proceeds will be donated towards the MMAC fundraiser.

Passes will be raffled off individually. Raffle Tickets will be sold at the beginning, first rest stop and before the drawing at lunch. Cash accepted for tickets - $1 each, 8 for $5, 15 for $10.

 

As I mentioned in my post in the CMMC forums, I'm am totally humbled and honored by this. A lot of people's lives have been touched by cancer. Cancer is a horrible thing, but good things, like this, can come out of it. This just proves that people who drive MINIs are some of the best people out there!

Originally, given that my stem cell transplant was scheduled for February 29th, I wasn't able to attend the drive. There has been a glitch and the transplant has been delayed, so there is a possibility that I might actually be able to attend the drive itself. We'll see....

Here's hoping that I'll be able to motor with the best!

I forwarded the thread info to the Madison Yahoo group as that's the more reliable way of communicating with them Road trip!

 

Anthony, Thanks for your update to the Yahoo group. I would be very interested to join the trip to Wisc Dells.
MiniMac2005, I think there are other Madison folks (at least you got me ) would like to join you to the Dells, may be you should consider a pit stop around Madison.

 

we can do that right now.. it looks like we're going to have to pass Madison whether we take 90 (by way of Rockford) or 94 (through Milwaukee).

Thanks to everyone who came out for the MINI roadtrip today for the banner hand-off! It was really great to see so many clubs represented today:

The weather was almost perfect.. a little chilly for me actually... we ate at Pizzaria Uno in the Dells, chatted for a bit and finally handed the banner over. Took a few pictures and even delivered a set of wheels/rims (yes.. 17's do fit in the back of a cabrio )

So the MMAC banner has been handed off to AllBlack05S (Eric & Noreen) and is awaiting a nice looong trip to AMVIV in a few weeks.



First, I just want to say a big, HUGE, thank you to everyone who contributed! you've definitely shown what a great MINI community we have in the IL/WI area. I hope everyone who contributed had the opportunity to sign the banner.

Second, my goal was to raise $1000. An ambitious goal for sure, especially in such a short amount of time (1 week). As of this post we've raised $965.00 for the ACS! Imagine what we could do with a little more time!

Third, and most important, it was really great to see Tom (MiniShagz) and his brother at the Drive today. We're pulling for you big guy!!
