OEM Euro number plate mount

Is there anyway I can get an OEM euro number plate mount for the Cooper? I ordered one of those universal brackets off of eBay and it felt cheap...not to mention I didn't really know how to mount it, I mean I know I have to drill holes in the bumper what type of screws do I need? I'm not very hardware inclined (it's a downfall I know).

Anyways I was wondering about where to get the OEM one that comes on well the European cars, I've looked on eBay but came up with nothing.

Real Oem lists the Euro front plate holder as part number 51132753979.

Pelican Parts lists it for $18.75.

I had to look up the Euro Mini as the USA model pages don't list a part number.

No problem. I've been using Pelican Parts for other cars for years now. Always top notch service!

Drill into the two "dimples" on the front bumper with a #3/32 pilot drill. Then use a #10 sheet metal screws and a large Fender washer to attach the Euro Plate. You cannot use nuts and bolts as the cross frame of the car is right behind the dimples. I used a piece of soft teflon sheet underneath the frame to protect the paintwork.

Thanks for the tip! The next question becomes is there a place in the US to order custom UK number plates? The last plate I got from the UK (I am British and still have friends there to get certain things for me) and was for a '73 MGB I bought my wife. So that plate was a standard '73 registration. I would like something custom for the Mini though. I found a great place in the UK but they are a proper registered plate there so I'd have to ask a friend to displace a few regulations to get one...

Here is the UK site for an example.

http://www.demonplates.com/

If this question has been addressed before I apologize for the repitition but I did use the search before posting, honest.

Thanks!

Martin

Yes, Just google "EURO PLATE" and you will get several dealers in US that make custom plates . I got mine from California.

I didn't drill holes in my bumper I just used the 3M modeling tape found at autozone for $3 and it holds like no other but can be removed later if you don't want it anymore.

BEST.ADVICE.EVER!!!!

I did the same. I filled up every section of the back of the plate, centered and then mounted. That sucker isn't going anywhere. And best all, when Im sick of it, no holes.

$3.99 tape.

I just ordered a plate from Europeanplates.com. My MINI came with the dorky US front plate mount that went up over the lower grill, like an under bite. It looks as though the space left behind once you remove the holder is a Euro plate blank?

Does anyone know if this plate holder will fit a 2009 Clubman S?
