The waiting is the hardest part

So I just got off the phone with Ask MINI

Production scheduled for week 3!

Looking around Week 6-8 for delivery.

Anyone else around here having a week 3 baby?

It would've taken 1 month for an R56 for me so I just picked one off the lot. The last MCS on the lot too.

I could have done that, but they didn't have any with the options I wanted

:(

It had to be Chili Red with Lounge Leather, HID's and an LSD

No, lots of us ordered and waited.....and waited......and lost our minds. It's something of a tradition in MINI-land. Not to worry, you're perfectly normal.

My week 3 baby is a toddler now--she will be a year old shortly.

When I ordered mine, NO one in this country knew what they'd be like--couldn't even tell what the interior would look like! A giant leap of faith, well rewarded.

Patience...

Just be glad you're not a pregnant elephant...or whale.

(Then again, you could be a fruit fly.)

Agreed! I must have watched that around 10 times while waiting for my MINI arrival. Most of my friends who I showed it to found it kinda corny, but they just don't get it.

Count yourself lucky, 6-8 weeks isn't so bad! My MA told me the same and it arrived in exactly 4. Poor souls on the West coast and MW have to wait 8-12 weeks.

It's about 10 to 14 days to the US. Keep in mind that the car might not get on board for a few days, depending on when the ship leaves. Then, it's off to the VDC, and that could be a few days to 3 weeks if there's a problem. Your dealer will probably hold it for 2 or 3 days just to taunt you (and make it pretty). It won't be too much longer.

Just be glad you don't live on the west coast--the ship has to go through the Panama Canal, and the entire process takes weeks!

Why so long? Aren't they releasing them yet? It usually takes only 2-3 days for dealer prep.

What do you mean "special orders?" I think all of us on this thread have had custom orders. Or do you mean something that the dealer has to do?

I placed my order on Saturday, Jan 12. Today, my production number showed properly in the Owner's Lounge, but still in Order Placed status. Do I have to wait until she moves into production before I actually know what my production week is?

I ordered: 08 LiB/B MCS, sport, cw, conv, prem, black bonnet stripes, piano black, PB colorline, leatherette.

I'm on the east coast, so I expect not to wait the full 6-8 weeks my MA quoted, although I know it could happen. I do want to know, though, what my actual Production Week # is.

Thanks!

MiniRee

Congrats! See the wait will be over before you know it.

My MINI took exactly 4 weeks from the day I ordered to driving it off the lot. I imagine the absolute shortest would be just over 3.
