Long wait times are normal for the northwest. I ordered in May but it didn't go into production until July, this is due to the limited monthly dealer allotment of cars.

Harsh. I've only been waiting a couple of days and it already seems interminable. I can't imagine the agony of 14 weeks!

East coaster here. It took 8 weeks from order to delivery (ready for pickup on Dec 13). The JCW aero and engine kit installations at VPC plus JCW suspension installation at the dealer added a week to the process ... my MINI's non-JCW shipmates on the Boheme were picking up their cars starting on Dec. 6.

Use the time to refine your order... I must have changed my order at least a dozen times before she went into production. As for tracking, the MINI website is always way behind; the Ask MINI line is your best bet, and I found that you can make back-to-back calls and get various levels of detail ... seems like it all depends on how well the staffer at the other end of the line knows the system, or how deeply they are willing to dig for you. Once it arrived in the US, my MA had more info than I could get from Ask-MINI. Tracking her across the Atlantic was really fun. Program that speed dial

The wait was painful but it's all worth it when you get to the dealer and the car cover comes off your baby. Mind blowing! And on the drive home, you'll discover that your adrenal glands are controlled by the throttle pedal

I wouldn't wish that agony upon anyone else and to make matters worse, I had to drive my 15 passenger dodge van all the while I waited. ugh! I REALLY do appreciate having my car now though.

Hey, Hubby drives a 15 pax commuter van for the company car pool. It's a Chevy, though. That any better?

yeah, sounds about the same, I could start an airport shuttle service with mine! I rarely drive it anymore (mostly for hauling stuff) but man it feels WEIRD now that I'm used to the mini.

Like Daffodildeb I was one of the ones who ordered last year before there where any over here. The wait was terrible. Then when my car came it wasn't built to order (w/o MFSW) and I reordered. I thought for a minute about taking it anyway, but a car without cruise, no way. To compound the problem the MC wasn't available with 6 sp stick until orders after March 1, so when my MA called and told me he was putting in a reorder, I told him to wait and change the automatic to a manual, adding another month to the wait. Total wait, first order around Dec. 1, 2006, final delivery on 4/17/2007, over 5 MONTHS!!!!!!!!:impatient Count yourself lucky for 6-8 weeks.

I just started my hardest part here because I just ordered 2008 MCS yesterday.....soooooooooo cool !!!!

MA said that just give them a week to update my mini information, but I just tried to make a username for the owners lounge page and it said mine is Dark Silver instead of Pepper White.....I hope they can update the info quickly.

I ordered mine last Monday. At first it said black but I checked on Wednesday and it had been updated to DS/B. I'm still waiting for a production date to show up on the site but my MA said it will be week 6.

So mine got off the boat safely on the 29th.

Dealer calls me on the 31st to tell me that it is in the dealership and that I could pick it up that very same day! I jump up and yell in the middle of the office, leading everyone there to wonder what the hell was wrong with me!

Then he calls me back and says "Uhhh yeahh, I lied. You cant pick it up today, I have to put that bodykit on for you and it's not painted yet"

I've never been blue balled by a car dealership before.

But there ya go!

I got a 07 MCS off the lot too just a few weeks ago. The dealer offered $1000 off throw in floor mats, armrest and bonnet stripes. It had all I wanted and I like the color. Laser Blue
