JCW 380cc Injectors

Do I need them with the following set up?

2007 MINI Cooper S Convertible with:
-One Ball Modded Stock Exhaust
-Alta Cold Air Intake
-Alta 15% reduction pulley
-Alta Oil Catch Can
-Alta Plug and Play Unichip ECU mapped for CAI, Pulley
-NGK One step cooler Iridium Plugs

Thanks for the advice!

You don't need them, but it can compliment the mods you have.

if you are raising the rev limit and doing custom tuning then yes. I technically needed 380s on my car when jan tuned it but i didn't have them handy at the time.

Can you order the JCW injectors from a MINI dealership? I called Classic MINI, and they said you need the JCW software to run them, is that true?

If you're going to Helix in Jan, they might have a set in stock. Check with them.

I know its convenient to get the injectors from Helix, but if I'm going there to get my car tuned, I don't want to spend more money for them to install the injectors also. The reason I bought a 15% pulley, was that bigger injectors wasn't necessary. I just hope I can get the injectors in time for the tune. Or Jan can just tune my car with the stock injectors, since I don't really track my car.

Then what's that business of 440's being in your sig? I'd have figured you'd be running 600's by now or something

440's should be just fine (I hope ). They are sitting on the bench in front of my car waiting to go in. We ran out of fuel with the 380's at 252 WHP at 7000 . There were other things keeping us from going to 8000 but those items have been worked out. The next couple weeks should be fun.

Hey if you plan on selling them, just let me know how much you want for them, and what brand they are.

I don't think that the Unichip raises the rev limit, and it is a canned map from Alta and not a custom dyno tune. I talked to Adam at Alta and he said that there is no need for bigger injectors with my setup - if I go bigger on the pulley or add more mods then I might, but if I don't need them then I don't see the point in adding them. My understanding of injectors is that they all flow the same amount controlled by throttle and rpm - the only way it would give me more power on the top end would be if I was lean at the top and more fuel is needed. Is this correct? The only reason I did the unichip was because I was concerned that adding boost via the pulley and cai could mess with the fuel mapping and lean it out. I'm not looking to go any further with mods right now for the engine, as I need reliability over speed. Next is suspension and brakes, but that will be next year. Thanks for the advice!

I have a set of new JCW 380cc injectors if you are still interested. I'll do $285 shipped. Or you can pick them up when you come down to Helix. I'm in Philly also. Pick up will be $280
