Need help on this one...

here is my problem:2005 mcs
1. spark plug popped out (previous owner stripped it, so warranty wont fix)
2. rethreaded head
3.new plugs and wires
4.reset computer
I still cant get the car to run. idles like it is still missing a plug. I am getting spark, fuel, and @150 compression on all cylinders.
can anyone out there help me

When you say you reset the computer, what do you mean exactly?

Sounds like the ECU need a reflash.

Q: when you say, "rethreaded head," do you mean material was inserted into plug hole and threads were cut in it?

The most common fix for this is a Heli Coil. Not sure if that was what he used or not.

I used a timesert thread insert (better than a helicoil) commonly used on 911 porsches.

I reset the computer using the ignition switch and speedo reset button technique i read about in another forum thread. It resets the eml for a little while but the car eventually goes back into "limp mode"

3.new plugs and wires

Put the old wires back on and see what happens.

I changed some wires on my MCS this last May and it was firing on only 3 of the 4 cylinders. One of the new wires was bad.

Wires will do it... It you are not getting a solid spark, that will cause problems.

I thought that it was determined that the trick of "re-setting" the ECU via the speedo / ignition trick does not actually re-set the ECU. I will look for the thread I saw that on...
Ahh, found it: Look at post #5 and read on:
