Cross Coilover Questions

I have been seriously thinking about getting Cross Coilovers. But, I have a couple questions for those who have them:

1. When you purchased the Cross coilovers, did they come with control arms, links, etc and other accessories/parts? If not, does Cross make their own that I can purchase somewhere?

2. What are your camber settings?

3. What are your stiffness settings.

4. Did you change the spring rates from default?

5. Do you also have an M7 STB with the Cross? Opinions on ride?

6. Do you also have rear sway with the Cross? Opinions on ride?

Thanks in advance.

Call Jan @ RMW. He has them on his GP and loves them. He may be able to help you out. Plus I believe he sells them.

They don't come with control arms, nor do you need them, but they do come with sway bar links. Like any coilover, they bolt in directly in place of your stock spring/shock.

We have some of the Cross coilovers in stock. If you'd like to come by and take a look, just drop in during business hours.

Whoops, I forgot! Yes, they DO come with front sway bar end links. I was focusing on the question of control arms -- they don't come with control arms. (Do any coilovers for MINI come with replacement control arms?)

nope and very few even include drop links or camber plates... so if you're trying to compare apples to apples with other coil overs you have to drop about 450 off the price.

thanks for pointing this out.....

many don't factor this into the price , this complete setup is what makes them so nice as they work well together. I can't wait to get back on the track on Nov 16th again!

What we need to do, is compile a list of which vendors are selling what length body and rate springs with their kit.

How is front camber adjusted? Does shock need to be uninstalled?

How is rear shock setting adjusted? Can it be adjusted on the car?

Dan, thanks for letting me know. Have you installed them on any Mini's, yet? I would like to come by sometime just to check them out up close.

Thanks everyone else for all the info....Cross' are probably overkill for me, but when I get obsessed about something, I usually end up getting them LOL.

It is better to go overboard in this situation since it is suspension. I am considering the cross setup as well since my shocks are pretty much gone.

Jay..what's your time frame? Have you thought about where to get the installation done?

I guess no other vendor wants to add their info to the spring rate / damper length

Perform a search and you'll find lots of info about springs and dampers. There is a sticky at the top of the suspension page.

I'm very puzzled by some information above...why do we expect an adjustable coilover manufacturer to provide swaybar endlinks? These two components, although related, do not traditionally pair-up in a kit...not in my 30 years of experience in fact. The only useful endlink must be adjustable in length, or it is useless.

When we sell or install the CROSS coilovers we highly recommend installing PowerGrid endlinks as well.

DMH...would you happen to know what the spring rates are on the Crosses that you sell?

And, do you have a link to the PowerGrid endlinks? I couldn't find them on your website....

Understood Don...I thought you might respond! But, these do not come with the kit, ie, purchased seperately???

Mine are still hanging on the wall...waiting for something good to go with them...
