Hi,

I just got my R56 MCSa with the Mini 10 speaker Hi-Fi system. I went into the treble, bass, balance settings and there is a setting called "Gong" I cannot find any info in my manual that tells me what this is for. When I adjust the settings it does not seem to change anything. Can anyone help? Thanks.

 

The gong is the alarming sound that goes off when you don't have your seat belt on I believe.

 

Yep, it controls the sound made both when you start the engine and your seat belt is off, and when you have the key in the ignition with the door open.

 

you can turn it all the way down if you want..

Thanks. I tried turning it all the way down and it does make a slight difference to the seat belt sound, but not much.

DINKDANKDINKDANK!!! - We've checked with MINI Engineering and they were unable to fit DINKDANKDINKDANK! on the radio controls.

We have no plans to offer speech improvement plans for your MINI. We will notify you should speech lessons be available for your pre-week 32 MINI.

Well, while your at fixing the "speach impediment", please also work on getting us a Nav speach update with alternative voices (aka Bloody brit english), and updating the Nav software to let us simply search for a name in the POI db without selecting a locatin and/or catagory.

 

My Dad bought a TOM TOM and was able to get a free download voice....he chose John Clease haha. Driving with John Clease is a riot.
