Nice car, but it's nearly 5 years old, and for nearly $23K you can buy a nicely equipped R56.

Seems a bit high to me...

Just my .02 cents.

Let's add my .02 and we'll get nearly a nickel. I agree with you!

Nice looking MINI. But that's a whole lot of miles for a 3-year old car. I'd give that a careful going over, inside and out.

And given the fact that they are one of those dealerships that say "no haggle" price, I'd pass on that one. If they were willing to come down a couple thousand, then it would be priced about right.

What's with NO HAGGLE prices on used cars anyway ? That's half the fun of buying a used vehicle. Besides, if I can't haggle, I'd feel like I'm being taken for a ride.

thanks for the comments, and i agree, that is a lot of miles within three years, the only problem is that the only dealership in CO that sells minis is a no haggle dealership so im kinda stuck as far as that aspect goes

5 years? how about nearly 4 years.

But I agree, forget this and get a stripped R56

My only thought to add to what's already been said is that it is my understanding that a number of desirable upgrades/improvements came in to the R53s starting with the 2005 model year, such as improved gear shift, availability of LSD, etc.

Basically, I'd suggest you keep looking, and look for an 05 or 06 if you want an R53. It is a great looking car though!

Ever try haggling a "no haggle" dealership? I got a feeling they just might haggle. I think negotiating the price is fun...and if it's really, "no haggle", I figure I'm gonna get screwed on whatever I buy.

I too would get a new R56.

The car is a 2004 model year car.

2004 - 1 year (it may have been purchased in late 2003 for all I know

2005 - 2 years

2006 - 3 years

2007 - 4 years

the 2008s will be out shortly - making the car "nearly" (see my post above) 5 years old where bank financing, etc is concerned).

No biggee.. 4 years, 5 years.. it's still a lotta money.

Your quibbling over MY vice Calendar year.

MY04 car cutover date was 7/04. Although a MY04 car, it could be physically barely three years old. I know this because my car was a 6/04 build and 7/04 cars has significant changes since they were MY05 cars

08 MINIs coming out in December (last I read), then come 12/07 a MY04 car will be four years old. But it could still be 3.5 years old physically

Regardless, I agree ... too much money

Yeah, I'd go for an 05' with the newer gearing. But I would not buy an 07' because its new- lots of kinks still in it. I'd get an 05' or an 06', or a new 08'.

Welcome to NAM. I had two Cavaliers before I got the car I really wanted
Don't let the fact that you have a dealership secluded in CO make you pay too much for a used MINI. Two of our club members had purchased cars and had shipped them to CA from the East Coast. There are some good deals to be found on new '06s.

so on monday i went and checked out the dealership here in CO and to be honest it sucked. No one even tried to help us out and there were three of us walking around for at least a half an hour. second their selection was pretty terrible, very few MCS but plenty of highly marked up MC. THere was one that was a GB, had the full JCW CF interior, special **** and that stuff, but it did have 35k on it

i dont know im just frustrated, im finding it way too hard to get into one of these wonderful cars

Place an order at a dealer that charges MSRP or less, (there are plenty of them), get the options you want and not a bunch of stuff designed to make the dealer a fatter profit. Ask them about the BS "documentation fee", some dealers change a whole lot more than others.

The ordering process...and even the wait, can be a fun part of getting a MINI.

I would say try some of the Mini dealership sponsors on here. Check out their inventory. And if you decide to buy new, you will pay MSRP through one of them.

i saw a blue MCS in a dealership in boulder, co. It's on 28th iris ave. it's along that 28th. you'll see it when you drive there..they park the Blue MCS outside the dealership..i think the price is $18k.

i think it's SAAB dealer.

check that out! they have red and yellow too.
