Well had the mini for about a week now when some jackass in a pickup decided to run a stop sign and clip me while I was going about 55, car spun out and flipped. Pictures....

That is truly a sad, sad sight. I can only assume that since you're posting this, you and any passengers are OK. Does said jackass have insurance... and a good lawyer?

Yep Somthing similar happened to me and my '02 mcs:

forcing me into the R56MCS club, My mellow yellow is on order now.

I'm pretty sure there's a conspiricy to remove all the 1st gen MINIs off the roads.

I stayed mad for a while then I go over it. Don't forget to add the Limited Slip Differential when you respec your new car!

Firstly, I hope everyone's ok.

Second...damn! also looks like the same road you took the first set of pics on too. I can't imagine what it must felt like ending up like that.

Oh....My....Goodness!

I'm so sorry for your loss. An injured MINI makes me sad. But the fact that you are still posting is a blessing. Please confirm that you and your passengers (if any) are alright.

If I may ask...from the couple of pics of the inside, it appears the cabin stayed relatively intact; is that correct? I'm consistantly amazed at how well these little cars absorb an impact. Horrifying as the pics usually are, they impress me with their protection of the occupants.

I hope you're able to return to motoring very soon. Please keep us posted as the situation develops.

Always makes me sad to see a MINI's belly skyward, but I am glad for you that you're alive and safe!

And I agree...

That'll buff right out.. Use the orange pad.

Looks like you need one wheel and a little touch up paint.

Seriously though, glad your ok! These Minis are so much tougher than people think!

So I guess you had a fun time crawling out of the boot. Did you have any injuries? What happened to the pickup truck driver; I hope that he tried to help you out and make sure you were okay after running you off the road...?

I guess that's one way not to worry about engine mounts and drive train noises, but probably not the preferable way! Dang. Scary pictures! Glad you're ok!

i hope everyone in the car is ok. the fact that you are able to post is a testament to the MINI's ability to sacrifice itself for the safety of its passengers.

Thanks for the kind words everyone and yes im fine, though I will probably spend months working the broken glass out of my skin. I was the only one in the car and the ****er in the truck didn't even stop... As for cabin deformation it squished it quite well, before the incident with my seat all the way lowered there was about 4in of clearance to the roof from the top of my head, when I came to a stop though my head was on the ceiling. Though I can say that the seat belts work well, while being fully upside down i was still firmly seated until I unbuckled and fell into the broken glass all over the ceiling (forgot to brace myself as I blindly reached for the release button ). And crawling out wasn't the best experience, I took out a barbed wire fence during my tumble and it was around my points of escape so it stung a lil on the way out. But Hopefully my insurance will cover all of this and ill be in a new mini soon

Glad to hear you're okay. Your insurance shouldn't have to cover anything...that jacka$$ should pay for everything!

I have to admit, that made me really sad. Thankfully Minis are built like lil' tanks.

Glad to hear that you are okay.

The recommended method for working on the exhaust is to use a lift, not flip it...

...aside from the fact that he holds personal responsibility for a wrecked MINI, you could have been seriously injured and needed emergency medical assistance on-scene. That selfish, irresponsible, self-absorbed, $lackazz, ****.
