R50/53 Brakes squeak after pad and rotor replacement
Brakes squeak after pad and rotor replacement
I just replaced the front brakes on my Cooper with Mintex Redbox Pads and Brembo blanks. After driving it for about 5 miles the brakes started squeaking at a certain brake pressure. I did put the anti-squeak stuff on the backside of the pad and the piston. Is there anyway to get rid of the squeaking? Could it be that they are so new it still needs time to break-in?
Sometimes they do need a little driving to set in. Also, did you just put the anti-squeal goo on just the pad backing or also on the ears? Those ears shake and rattle quite a bit. Sometimes the compund just does it on its own because of how hard it is. It's a number of things. My EBC's stopped squaking after a little while, did it for a while over the winter, stopped again in Spring and now recently started doing it again.
