I ordered my MINI last friday. Its been 3 years since the last time I ordered one and I forgot the process of getting the production number and how long it takes to get to me..etc...can someone give me a quick refresher? thanks. mark

 

Your MA will send you your production number, once you have that you can create an account in for the Owners Lounge on MiniUSA. Until your MA is able to provide you with the production number, all you can do is try to wait patiently.

In regards to how long it takes to get the production number, you'll get it shortly after you order is finalized and your MA has input the order into the ordering system. Once my MA did that, he emailed me my production number. It was within a week from the time that I sent him back the final order sheet authorization. But I'm sure that was just due to it going snail mail to him.

 

We ordered an R56 on Friday evening. My husband came home from the dealership with a Prod Number that night. He ran into our house shouting, "honey, we're pregnant....look at our ultrasound" (the build sheet/Prod Number)

He's verrrrrrrrrrrrrry excited.

Yes, if there isn't a wait list at the dealer they'll be able to provide the order number instantly because they can actually place the order for you while your are there, but if there is a wait list, well, you have to wait for it...

 

I have an account at mini usa with my 2004 mini. In my account I cant find anywhere to put my production number..hmmm

 

You need to go the UPDATE PROFILE link in the upper middle portion of the OL, then in the Member Vehicles list select ADD. It'll ask you for the VIN or production number. Enter the production number and its been added to your list of vehicles. You can then select either vehicle from the main OL page via a drop down select box.

Its on the order detail link on the OL...or you can go to view source and scroll 2/3 of the way down the page til you see your order--the VIN is in there too.

 

this may be a dumb question but what is the OL? and the source list??? just confused

You'll need either your production order number or your VIN in order to register in the OL. Since you were looking for you VIN, you'll need your production order number that your MA should have given to you. If not, you'll need to get it from your MA in order to get signed up for the OL.
