So, I pull into the Chevron station this afternoon after work. I happily pull up on the other side of the pump from another MINI. A sweet little old man (70 - something) gives me a warm hello and we commence chatting about our amazing little cars.

This big SUV pulls in to the pump directly behind me. Out jumps this 20-something y/o kid, and he says, "Hey you two, NASA just called and they want their moon rovers back". This totally amuses the SUV driver's passenger and they both bust up laughing.

As I'm standing there with the expression on my face, the little old man nods in the direction of the SUV driving moron and says, "Don't pay him any mind little lady, he's the reason NASA has to look for intelligent life on other planets".

Bwaahahahahahahaaa

Even the SUV driver's passenger cracked up laughing as the idiot just stood there, without a witty comeback, pumping his fuel and hanging his head in shame.

What a GREAT way to start the weekend. I've been giggling ever since.

that sounds like something i encountered recently..but without the "SUV" parts.
it was just me and him chattin away along with everyone staring at us.

I'm glad I have yet to run into douchebags like that in my area. If I did, my baton would prolly come out and take that guys headlights with it. Either that or I would call him a word I won't mention here followed by another string of swears. For some reason, I take that kind of stuff personally.

 

Great relpy, even better that as you both left he was still filling up and will be back to the station in half he time as you.

I also would've asked that fool, what kind of mileage he was getting, how often did he have to fill his gasguzzler and how much did it cost him? I've done it a couple of times when I've gotten snide remarks, and those questions shut them up right quick...
