I just put on the clear side markers but don't lik ehow the orange bulb almost bleeds through. Is it illegal to put the clear bulbs instead of the orange bulbs? Does the side markers have to be orange?

Yes it is illegal to have clear bulbs. However if you dont mind paying the occasional "bust your *****" ticket...

Assuming you are in North America, yes the side markers have to flash amber. If you can find some bulbs that are silven when off and amber when lit, it should solve your problem and remain legal.

I've done this with the front turn indicators but haven't researched what kind of bulb is in the side markers. Anyone?

The stock MC side indicators have an orange lense and a white bulb. When I bought the MCS white side indicators they came with an orange bulb. I simply swapped the white bulb into the white lense.

Orange Bulb : WY5W
White Bulb : W5W

I bought them at minispares.com

They sell them individually, but theyre cheaper than buying them in the US.

Pretty cheap, but you should buy other things too while you get those since you will be paying for shipping from all the way there.

I got the Philips Silver visions for the front turn indicators as well. They were about $4 each at a local auto parts store.

My next goal is to get some super white bulbs for the white running lights that are next to the indicators. I'd like all my front lights to be white instead of the stock yellow.
