I am thinking about doing some custom lighting work with them on the car somewhere.


I consider myself to be pretty smart and knowledgeable especially about technical things but I am totally clueless looking at this stuff. I am just way out of my league from a physics terminology point of view.

Anyone else have fiber optics knowledge?

 

Been out of town for a few days.

Just bumping for anyone who might have experience with fiber optics.

 

I don't know exactly what you have in mind, but I do know that fiber could be difficult to work with considering that it has a limited flex radius. Bend it too far, and it's trash. Oh, and it's hard to splice!

I don't have much first-hand experience with it, though, except seeing it laying around the various data centers that I've done work in.

 

Well I know i need to use the solid care side beam/projection type of cable but that is all I know right now.

I want to use the cable to outline a part of the car or possibly make a design.
