MINIMini Toys - Diecast/Models/RC *Caution Lots of photos*
Found this brand that I've not heard of before at Colpar Hobbies in Aurora (Denver), Colo. and bot it for $3.20. I have not seen this brand before, but there is a Dutch website. Can't find the scale, but it seems like about 1:45 (slightly larger than Matchbox). Average detail but better than average wheels and tires (IMO).
They also had a very large convertible model, I'm not sure what brand. I should have gotten it, but my wife would not have understood spending $99 on a toy car.
I'm going back in about a month, without her!
I've been spending so much time collecting, that I've forgotten what's in my collection. So, I took some time to arrange and organize yesterday.
It's really nice to reflect on a really cool collection. My next goal is to get a proper display so that I can take them out of the wet bar closet (yes, my house was built in the 70s) and display them where I can see them all the time. I've been avoiding this because my son was very little and would get into it. Now that he's older, and understands 'look not play' I think I can start thinking about putting them out.

IKEA has some pretty nice, reasonably priced display cases. The one I got is on casters so I can move it if/when necessary, and is basically a glass case with glass shelves that allow a variety of viewing angles. I'm a lazy housekeeper, so I like the fact that the case keeps dust off of my die casts more than anything!

I recall taking quite an order when these (Siku Yellow Cabs) showed up at my local hobby store. But, I haven't been around lately. Out of sight...
You're not finding these at your local Wal-Mart, that's for sure.
That being said, do they have any extras?
I'll have to check my collection to see what I'm missing.
I'm just being a smart ****. One of the stores closed but I'll see if I can swing by to check the other.
I beg your pardon?
See my website! No, just kiddin'. I think there's a pic of it a couple of pages back. I'm the nut with the Eagle Transporter collection from Space: 1999. There are other, larger cases at IKEA too, though. Mine is modest in comparison.

That is a cool case, but I'll definitely need to look at something larger. I'll have to check out my local IKEA.
Friday I will order my first real Mini Cooper. I've been collecting 1/64 scale versions for the last year. My 3 year old daughters favorite car was her MB red Mini and I will now honor her by purchasing an exact replica. Please visit her website to learn more...

That site was very touching. It's a very nice tribute to your daughter. I hope the "actual size" MINI you get delivers a lot of driving pleasure! Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Got my third die cast MINI yesterday from my dealer. While not an exact replica of my car, it's pretty darn close AND it's an R56, something that seems hard to find with the glut of pre-R56 die casts in the market!

I wish Kyosho produced a Chili Red MINI Cooper. Instead, they offer a silver or green one. What about RED? It's one of the most popular (read: practically cliché) colors available for the MINI! C'mon fellas, get with the program!
Maisto is aware of this, but I haven't seen them offer a 1:18 scale R56 MINI in Chili Red...

On the subject of die casts, has anyone heard from Agro lately? His latest post was on August 12th. I've been trying to get a 1:87th scale CR MINI die cast from him. He requested my address to establish the shipping cost, which I supplied, then he promptly dropped off the face of the earth and failed to respond to my follow up PMs. What gives?
As for other CR MINIs, there were soooooo many CR diecast the past few years, that manufacturers may be thinking it's time for something different.
Excellent point, Mishka. Admittedly, the Chili Red MINIs have been produced in very high volume. I should have said that I wish Kyosho would produce a 1:18th scale R56 MINI in Chili Red. The 1:43rd scale is awesome, but I'd love to have a larger version with opening doors, bonnet and boot, much like the one Maisto produces.
Me too. I wish they would sell more single pack MINIs. Seems like Hot Wheels is overdue for a new one as well.

Sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing.
