I bought a set of those (without the Union Jack) today! Along with a 1/24 scale Maisto.

I also found a very nice 1/64 blue MINI from AutoArt. But it was too expensive. So, I think that I'll wait and order that one from a US site instead!

 

Picked up teh "Red Nose Day" 1:43 Mini Challenge model at Mini United this weekend in Zandvoort, The Netherlands (just outside Amsterdam)... Saw teh model last year at the Hockenheim ring for the Formula 1 race in the Mini booth (Mini Challenge and Porsche Cup support races) but didn't own my Mini at the time and didn't feel compelled to spend the $$. Glad I had a second chance!

The detail is unbelievable...little rubber latch straps for the hood, tow straps, harnesses on race seat and a full roll cage on the inside...even the different gear shift lever and the Pi Reseach display in front of the tach... Wow!

Also took tons of pics...21 GPs lined up at one point! Every conceivable variation...including a Mini logo-shaped exhaust (exhaust pipe shaped like a Mini Wing badge complete w/the word "MINI" in the center)!

Grabbed a Mini cukoo clock while I was at it!

Hey guys, that Best of British isn't available on the pegs here in the US. It was only available at retail in the UK, but Matchbox did make the set (there are a bunch of others) available to select specialty diecast merchants Stateside. So for us, they're really only available on the internet .

 

That sucks.

 

Anybody looking to trade. I'm looking for a few Hot Wheels Morris Minis. I see them on ebay, but I thought I would check here first:

What am I willing to trade? Not much. I've still go a couple of Johnny Lightnings available including one complete set of first run Italian Job Hollywood on Wheels JLs. That's right I have an extra set with the metal bottoms and NO French choking hazard warning on the card - VERY RARE.

For those of you who aren't familiar with this JL series, let me explain:
JL released 3 versions of the Italian Job MINIs. The first set had silver metal bottoms. The second set had black (plastic?) bottoms and they changed the card to include the choking warning in French. The third set was similar to the second set, but the cars were dirty. The second and third set were way over-produced and were everywhere. It's very hard to find the original set. I've pieced one together.

Unfortunately, one of the cards is NOT in MINT condition. The last missing piece was the red car. I finally picked it up in a package deal, but the card has some wear on the edges and are a little dog eared. I'll post pics later.

So, if you have any of those HW listed above, I'd love to trade - 3 for 3.
