I want that Bathurst Mini! That is the car that won the 500 mile race at Mount Panorama in 1966, by 1 1/2 laps of the 6+ mile track. I've driven that track in a classic Mini with 200 other Minis.

 

Those pictures were new parts of my personal collection. I have a few Matchbox and hotwheels to trade.

I visited Tuesday Morning yesterday and look what I found!




This is the Excalibur 1:8, full function RC with a 'boom box' in the boot which is an actual FM radio!

That's a 1:56 sitting in front of it.

I got it for $40 ($43 w/tax). I wasn't sure if it was new...old...or what... but couldn't leave it there. Thought if I didn't want it someone here would.

Here's the skinny. After charging the battery, etc. the front wheels won't turn. But the headlights light up on forward, the tail lights on reverse, the turn signals blink and an engine sound 'plays' when in the RC function.

#1 - I will either take it back or check with manufacturer to resolve no turning.

#2 - Sell it. Anyone interested? I have all the packaging and dusted it after the inaugural run. It sells for $100 at the manuf. website here. It's quite nifty and the motor is POWERFUL. If you want it for your collection, it would be great. If you really want to 'drive' it then I'm back to Option #1.

The cheapest I've seen (other than manuf.) is $62.

Oh boy...a test. I'll go with Electric Blue. It's the more turquoise one. Indi Blue is more towards Royal blue, yes?

Electric blue was the early model MCS only "light" blue. Indy blue is almost the same as the hyper blue that replaced it.
Are you coming to AMVIV? I'm all about saving on shipping. My wife considers my MINI habit to be slightly less expensive than if I was on heroin, so I have to cut any costs I can.

I just bought one of those on ebay and it looks exactly the same. It plays music and you can turn the music off too. Mine is LY (of course) and it runs well but the wheels don't turn! I thought it was defective but maybe it's a feature? How can that be? A MINI that can't turn?

I got mine for $8 plus shipping on eBay. I have tried to contact the seller to get a replacement but have'n't had a reply. So now I have filed a complaint with PayPal. So we'll see what happens.

As a model it's still pretty cool because of the size. I just wish the wheels would turn. I was hoping to bring it on the Dragon trip.

I have the same MINI and have had it a couple of years. I noticed that if the batteries (mainly the rechargeable car battery) started runnning down the wheels wouldn't turn, but a full charge(8hrs I think) remedies the problem. I am wondering if maybe you guys got bad rechargeable batteries.

 

You mean I was supposed to charge that battery? I thought it had a flux capacitor in it or something!

 

 

Where did you get the Astro Black Cabrio. I've been looking.
